Kohga is implied to be a dread Pirate Roberts situation(name/title) so yeah. Perhaps Kass's mentor over Monk Maz since Impa uses a lot of his potential moveset. The artbook also mentions a Lizalfos General leading the monsters pre calamity. Plus there's some stuff they could round out with original characters on both side. I also think people are underestimating the chances we get the BOTW modern champions/Kass as an epilogue that may not be dlc

Good point about the Monk Maz and Impa as well as the Lizalfos general. I do see the current champions as a possibility but I'd personally prefer new characters myself.

Original HW base with free(month after launch) dlc(that made the 3 Original character villains playable) had 16 characters, with 10 heroes and 6 villains (4 being original characters with a 1:3 split). We are currently at 7 confirmed playable characters. We have 4 known but unconfirmed candidates: Robbie, Purah and the 2 Kings. Master of the Yiga, the Lizalfos General, and Kass's Master are 3 more vaguely known but undefined. That puts us at 14. So 2 fully original characters that could be filled on the hero or villain side are totally doable. And that's without throwing in bonus characters like modern characters, the previous games OCs or bonus carryover characters from the last game(like Imp Midna referencing the wolf link unlock in BOTW)

I'd like to see a new Age of Calamity map, hopefully one that is more open like the Hyrule Field map from the TGS footage.

I'm Super hyped on Pikmin 3. Never had a Wii U, so it's completely new to me and I just love the pikmin concept in general. Really hope they give some more details on control options... all footage so far has seemingly not shown any gyro aiming. Really hoping that's in there.

Also, I think the Pikmin community is really pulling for some good sales numbers from this on a Nintendo console with such a good install base. I get the sense that they think this is the franchise's last shot after the mysterious disappearance of Pikmin 4.

Gyro is in!

Thanks God gyro controls are confirmed, I was kinda worried when they started the stream moving the cursor with the stick

I hope the Kop Pad and Hints UI elements are can be disabled. Maybe they're just for the first level.

EDIT: Minimap too.

The camera option looks different, I really don't remember cause I played Pikmin 3 long time ago.

I assume gyro will be available in handheld mode too, but I'll wait for official confirmation before jumping on it. I do have it on Wii U already, but I do want the new content and being handheld.

Wish they could have increased the resolution on the ground texture. Looks fine when the camera is pulled back, but any closer it gets pretty ugly (like when they used the camera).

I remember Pikmin 3 looking pretty stunning when it released, but some of these textures have aged pretty poorly. Game still looks amazing overall!

Some gates/walls have been touched up weirdly enough, the dirt one now has white stripes, and the glass one looks slightly different.

Co-op seems well implemented and a total no-brainer. Definitely has me more interested in replaying.

The text and UI in general seem HUGE though lol.

What kind of bums me out about Pikmin 3 be re-released is that it was always a series I felt would greatly benefit from HD and high fidelity assets, but it was made fairly early into Nintendo's HD development, and it looks like that. I was hoping a Pikmin 4 would really look amazing, but if that's even in the pipeline it probably won't be out anytime soon because of this, if at all on the Switch

I am legitimately more excited for the piklopedia than anything else in the deluxe version lol. I loved learning all about the weird creatures in 2 back in the day, so I was quite disappointed when 3 didn't have it

Emily Rogers said that Pikmin 4 got a development reboot back in 2018 for some reason. It's probably a 2021 or 2022 game.

Outside of the Mario series (because of the cartoon artstyle) textures in Nintendo games always tend to be a little on the ugly side (BOTW mountains, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, etc). It's just easy to overlook because the games are so good.

This Olimar side-story feels like an extention of the mission DLC. I don't expect new areas, but I hope there's some kind of unique twist here aside from this.

New difficulty is nice.

Ugh I wasn't going to rebuy Pikmin 3 but I never did the challenges or the DLC and now there's harder difficulty modes and Olimar is back... AAAAH NINTENDO HOW DO YOU DO THIS TO ME

It's a great adaptation to the Switch hardware, I'm very pleased with what I saw, I can't wait to get it!

Considering it's all live, wonder if they'll slip up and show something by accident on HWAoC

Pikmin looks nice, seems like a fairly substantial expansion on the original and a good adaptation of the original's use of the gamepad.

At fear of derailing this thread after seeing the mess that the Hyrule Warriors online multiplayer thread turned into...

Adding online multiplayer to this port ala 3D world would have been really nice between bingo mode and the addition of co-op.

I dunno. Pikmin is cool but I don't think it's for me. I keep kinda zoning out. This looks like a great package for fans, though!

Glad they're showing this mode that most people probably won't ever be able to actually play, cool
