Pulled the trigger and got a grey one. I'd previously been using my brother's switch to play stuff.

Uh...there's nothing I really want to play other that I haven't yet other than Fire Emblem, but I couldn't help myself. Is Gato Roboto fun?

eShop, account (i.e. avatar in corner), on the primary unit deactivate, on the secondary unit, activate as primary.
On the current primary Switch, open eShop, open account information (your avatar), scroll down and press deregister. The next system you log into the eShop with will automatically become primary.

awesome! Thank you! Just did it!

Mia there a way to transfer save data for more than one game at a time?

Tested the dpad on good ol kof2003.
Solid baby. Very very clean on inputs. Sucks doin K' ein trigger cancels on anything but a stick but I can safely say that I can do kof inputs on it consistently. Lord knows that's a workout so that's about as far as I can test the dpad. Its good.

Analog is by far better than the old switch because as I stated earlier the l3 r3 buttons arent as sensitive so no accidental crouching when strafing in zelda. Triggers feel more clicky too.
This system is awesome.

That's good to hear about the dpad.

I was wondering if this could be a case of the dpad needing to be "broken in", like the one on the snes classic controller? That one changes a lot after a few uses.

Two switches one account? Anybody else trying this setup?

8 minutes watching recycled promo footage to just say deregister your primary and let the other switch login and become the new primary every time to avoid the constant internet check. Basically just make whatever switch you're using the primary every time.

I have my Lite set as primary and OG as secondary. Everything seems to work except the EShop throws an error sometimes when I launch it that says it needs to reload, which it does and then it fine.
I've been getting that error for what feels like the last month. I've seen other people mention getting it too. Dunno what the deal is.

I have big hands and the Lite is giving me hand cramps after a little while of playing. The face buttons on the right hand side are so much better than the buttons on the joycons, but the dpad is a bad replacement for the buttons on the joycon imo. The mushiness is affecting my speed in Tetris 99, Lumines, and Puyo Puyo. I think the Dpad issue might be the system killer for me. As someone that plays mostly puzzle games, I don't like this system for those games simply due to the dpad. I think I may need to return the Lite and get an updated Switch.

Something i haven't seen anyone mention, how does the game time tracking work with 2 switches, same account? Let's say i put in 500 hours into Splatoon 2 on my secondary docked switch, and another 100 hours playing it solely on the primary switch lite with the same account, would the tracking be separate or combined?

Gato Roboto is a really good metroidvania game. I really enjoyed my time with it plus it is really cheap.

Loving my turquoise model, I found my bf's (Wil348 ) OG Switch uncomfortable to play in handheld for too long as I have small hands, but this is perfect, whole thing is a joy.

This thing is absolutely gorgeous, so comfortable for handheld play.

I think I will make this the primary system with the other switch staying docked, it's actually really really nice. Colouring the bezels was a great idea, it's actually less noticeable during play.

Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the audio, I think the positioning of it is slightly worse.

My sister got one so had a play on it - very nice in hand, and solid build. The yellow is really nice, great screen.

Couldn't help but notice the screnshot button moving around in cut out, and text is too small (in BOTW). I don't own a switch so maybe the text size is always like that.

I own both physically and will also have Sword and Shield physically. I think I'll transfer my Eevee save when my games are done downloading and do some testing.

I just transferred my Let's Go Eevee save to my Lite and was able to trade with my Let's Go Pokemon on the regular Switch with no problem whatsoever. I was even able to trade my Mew from the Pokeball controller. I'm all set for Sword and Shield now, lol.

Anyone else's speakers really weak sounding? Even at full volume, it's hard to hear. If I have a fan going, I pretty much have to wear headphones to hear anything.

Finally got a chance to play on this a little bit tonight. I was quite disheartened at the reports of a bad dpad, so I thought I'd put it to the test. First, I tried out Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike and had no problem consistently pulling off specials with Ken.

Then, to see if the diagonals complaint was valid I booted up Super Castlevania IV to try
some diagonal whipping. I never missed a single strike and it felt great to control (unlike the Pro controller where I always feel like I have to try multiple times to pull off some moves).

I guess Tetris is the real test, but I don't care about Tetris enough to install it and try it out.

For the purposes of 2D action games, the dpad on this thing seems more than adequate. That being said, I only played for about 30 minutes, so of course my opinion could change. As of now, I am hugely relieved and satisfied.

Thanks, this impression of the dpad and the guy who tried KoF are very relieving.

Is the screen slightly blurry, like with all the text + graphics, or did I mess up my screen protector? I had to re-apply as I had it on slightly crooked the first go.

This could sound like a case of bad batch maybe, or maybe it's how one uses it. In any case this is reassuring.

Me neither. I ended up getting the Turquoise.

I am fucking loving this thing. It's light, comfortable to hold (my hands are on the smaller side I admit), and the turquoise and white just pop in person.
Well the way y'all are making it sound, at the very worst, I may have something to put back in a box and give to a family member for Christmas if it doesn't feel right

I've tried out a few more:

Mega Man 11 - I played through Block Man's stage. Doing slides worked fine, and I had no problem getting through the section where blocks are falling and you need to jump up and over back and forth.

Ikaruga - It played fine.

Blazing Chrome - Aiming up on diagonals was not a problem.

Super Ghouls n Ghosts - Seemed fine.

I have noticed that OS menus can be a little jumpy. It's strange because that does not seem to transfer into gameplay as far as I can tell.

Also, though I haven't had any glaring problems, the dpad does seem a bit mushier than I would expect out of Nintendo (and certainly much more so than something like the Vita, but that is hard to beat).

It is still disappointing that it couldn't have a dpad as fantastic as, say, an SNES controller (and since this is Nintendo, I see no reason why that shouldn't be possible, which makes it all the more disappointing), but I still feel fine with it.

I am tempted to try out Puyo Puyo Tetris, but I would also like to try out something that requires a lot of menu navigating to see if those OS menu woes are also present within a game.

Update:

Tried out more still:

Contra III - I did have some difficulties crouching and shooting.

Super Mario Bros. 3 - It was a bit difficult to crouch slide under the block with the P-Switch in 1-2.

I played to level 12 in Tetris in Puyo Puyo Tetris and didn't have any incorrect movements.

I played through the carrot boss and the first run and gun stage in Cuphead and the controls were fine.

As evidenced by Contra 3 and Super Mario Bros 3, down diagonals do seem to be a bit more tricky, but not so much that it ruins the system.

It's 2019 and I'm still getting gaming handhelds with dead/stuck pixels. Should be easy enough to exchange but still annoying...

I'm playing Super Mario Odyssey on a regular Switch, and there's a power moon where you have to blindly follow controller rumble in a room in order to find the right spot for the moon. How would this even work on the Switch Lite with no rumble?

By buying Joycons and playing with them, or looking it up online, just ground-pounding around until you find them, or ignoring them altogether (Nintendo made sure you could finish the game without them, since even a normal Switch can have rumble disabled)

I ended up buying one of these yesterday... didn't love the look of it from the photos/videos and none of the colors really did it for me, but ended up with the turquoise. I have to say, the unit looks better in person IMO. It also feels really great and I like the size of it. I haven't really tested the dpad in a fighter or platformer, so I can't comment on that.

Surprisingly, my biggest issue with it is the screen size. It just feels a bit small to me, but that also seems to depend on the game. It def felt small for SNES Online games and Capcom Beat 'Em Up Collection. I also thought it felt a bit small while testing out Dead Cells. Mario Kart I didn't have an issue with. It looks as if Nintendo could have possibly put the same screen as the regular Switch in the lite based on the huge bezel size. Had they done that, this thing would be killer. I'm also wondering if that huge bezel is there to make upgrading the screen size on the lite very easy as cost of components comes down.

So... I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. I really feel like Nintendo nailed the size of the regular Switch's screen as far as it being big enough that you still feel like you are playing/getting a console experience on the go. Not quite sure the lite conveys the same feeling. Going to give it another day or so (I've only spent about an hour with it), but we'll see.

The Target near me was completely sold out for the most part. They had one display that I think people didn't notice and it had only 4 Lites left.

None of them were the grey I wanted so I'll hold out a lil longer till they get more.
