Could the reason that Switch doesn't have a built in browser is so people have to buy games like this instead of going to porn websites for free. 🤔

This thing is common for card/shogi/mahjong games in Japan. It has been like that for decades. Also, it's a Japanese-only game as Japan is not so hung-up on sex as other more christian countries. They have a public all-ages attending dick festival with huge dongs, for crying out loud.

I know people are saying this is commonplace in Japan, but the entire concept of horny shogi is highly novel to me and I'm entirely about it.

Never had a Vita, but I heard the Vita had a high volume of Japanese adult content games, which gave the console an undesirable reputation.

To be fair, phallic parades and festivals have different histories and not particularly limited to Japan. Japan's are from Shinto origin, and places like Greece come from ancient Greek origin, for example.
Japan just seems to get the most coverage of Kanamara Matsuri even though it's not entirely unique and found in other countries as well. However, Japan was smart by making it a tourist attraction and turning it into charity work as well, where they spread awareness and give proceeds to fighting HIV.

Nice to see that the genre hasn't died out yet. I'd prefer it if there was a version with males as well, to balance things out, it's 2019 after all. And if you own both versions, you get one free extra stage or something.

I want a Shogi game as well so I can actually get better at Shogi in the Yakuza series. But for what its worth, there's always a way to cheese the Shogi requirements in Yakuza. I forget what 5's were (I'm guessing win 10 matches or something like that?) You should be able to do it in challenge mode - just look up a solution to the first challenge online and repeat 10 times to win it easily.
Not confused, just honest. Kids are the ones gunning for "mature" titles most of the time.
