Yes.
Hard disagree. 3D World is one of the best Mario games ever. I played the entire game in multiplayer. I had so much fun. Best multiplayer platformer ever
3D Land is boring garbage.
It's not easy to answer this. Could we see the Mario Kart team making ARMS? You never know what these producers and directors are capable of. There's tons of talent at EPD.Arlo's latest video got me thinking. Is there anyone at EPD that can make a 3D platformer outside of the 3D Mario team? I don't see the 3D Mario team working on Donkey Kong or Yoshi when Mario is around, but could we see someone else make them?
A new donkey Kong 3D seems like a no brainer with the setting and wide cast
They make for one system now. The point is the 3D Mario team doesn't have to make 2 3D Mario games for one system. HAL doesn't have to make 3-4 2D Kirby games for Switch. They can figure out how to get other series to 3D on SwitchI think the issue with this video is that he overlooks what "Nintendo" is. The Yoshi games for example have been mostly outsourced. I can't see them pushing a 3d transition to a completely external developer like that. HAL has experimented with 3d Kirby for years, but apparently never managed to put together something good enough.
Of course, they have the 3d Mario team, but they're making 3d Mario games.
the rapidly intensifying 3D Land vs 3D World war on this forum is so fucking funny to me
I'm basically a little kid, so I have nostalgia for both. my opinion of the 3DS soured in the years after I got it, so I'd personally give the dub to WorldChoose a side, and bite your enemies. Whom are you gonna chose, Raccoon? :P
I'll take a subpar collect-a-thon over another tired and tried full price 2D platformer.I really dunno how you take DK or Kirby and make an interesting 3D platformer that isn't a collect-a-thon or "Basically a 2-D style level but 3D" like Mario 3D Land/World.
An open world/jungle/something DK game would be Sweet if he has cool traversal options, but I feel like that probably would hit a budget ceiling Nintendo would have a hard time justifying. I dunno. I just feel like they aren't interested in Kirby/DK versions of 3DWorld/Odyssey. Even if a lot of people would buy them.

Well so far the switch has way more jrpgs than 3d plats. How many is enough, though? Nintendo has franchises that appeal to a wider group than just platformer fans.
And that's great.
