Might be worth joining the Discord in case another replacement ever ends up being created
I kind of missed the IRC boat because I was a weird teen who didn't want to socialise, online or offline. I was like "why would I want to speak to strangers when I don't even like to speak to people I see everyday" and yet here I am.
I rarely post in Nintendo Era threads but am here because of the whole MC event☹️ And I like Mazi as a poster.
I think it's nice just to be there, even if you don't participate much.
Uh, well, I can't stand discord so if this is it for the forum format, I'll just disappear in to the aether I suppose. I guess I never really contributed meaningfully and have routinely been far too abrasive, but I appreciated reading a lot of your posts anyway, thanks to everyone.
Maybe they'll let us pitch a tent if Master Chief is revealed for Smash
Personally it's precautionary for me. I love these threads too much to abandon the site for now but that could change soon.

Instead there is mass migration because
a) People in power are assholes and being defended because of personal relationships instead of being held accountable

Yea like if at some point there is a new forum most of us go to that would be great. If discord is the main form of communication going forward then I don't know what to do lol.

To be honest I'm not quite sure what/when was the breaking point, but I recall hearing that they were fairly sick and tired of being trolled by mostly console warriors. Hell I didn't even realize XboxEra was a thing until March or April, and the operation they had set up seemed fairly robust by that time.

The ideal way to handle Discords to me is not to use the colored user system so you don't have dumb hierarchies and to have mods/admins have the same username color as the rest of the users. That's what we did for a community a group of friends and I run, and it means newcomers especially can come in and disagree with a mod/admin without having to fear their status. Also means less status garbage in general. Humans love status and abusing it.
I'm interested, I can't wait for hype tomorrow (please don't disappoint us Nintendo).

I'm gonna strongly disagree there. Like I've said to others, I would encourage to join the Discord even if you don't plan to use it. You can check it now and then to see if there's anything new
