retail musings about stores with hundreds of Wiis and not a PS3 in sight never fail to make me chuckle.

There's a chance that it is for a classic console, though that would need its own FCC filing...

What if instead of the original colors they made Switch-themed N64 controllers? Neon Blue, Red, etc. It'd be dumb but I could see it.

Question and curious if anyone experienced this, mainly opinions: So I got new joycons, as my old ones were in moderate condition but I wanted the gray ones for a very long time. Anyway, my old joycons can get removed from the railing if sufficient pressure is applied from the bottom, reason is that one day my switch fell off the bed and bounced off the frame and bounced again on the floor (it hurt me to see an electronic fall) and both joycons have the railings be loose essentially, but I also did use the joycons away from the switch itself at times, like a lot.

I stopped doing that and honestly don't use it like that anymore, think that my new joycons would come loose with time even if I never remove it really? Or think they'll be fine and rigid if I don't remove them and just use the device like a large Vita basically?

While if I ever wanted to use the joycons separate from the device I would use the old ones without removing the new ones from the body.

thoughts on rigidity? Do the cons even come loose over time?

Is there any chance that the FCC filing is for a Classic Console? Or is it for sure gonna be an NSO addition?
The model number means it is for sure a Nintendo Switch accessory, and the device type Nintendo filed it under is "game controller." Nothing about the filing indicates it's for NSO, but it would certainly make sense given other rumors, and there aren't any other readily available explanations for a new controller. And although it could just be a coincidence, the model number is one beyond the NSO SNES controller's.

Edit: Not to mention that previous Mini consoles didn't have FCC filings because they didn't do wireless communication, and there's no reason that would change with a subsequent one.

Damn, so sales threads are basically dead?

That's probably the only original content and exclusive insight GAF and now ERA had on offer.

You guys reading this - definitely migrate to another forum because you have the community big enough to do it. I'm sure others on here would follow.

they didn't say mario 64 though

No way bro. Sunshine is the worst 3D Mario, full stop.

That's three more wrong opinions than I was expecting.

Super Mario 64 is delightful and absolutely fantastic for its time. It's definitely aged but growing up with it, I absolutely still loved it. I 100%'d it on the launch weekend of Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Mario Sunshine has too many bugs and some stressful difficulty, but it's got an absolutely beautiful art style, a super unique vibe, and the controls are some of the best Mario has been, everything flows so well. It's not one of my favorites but it's not as bad as 3D World.

I will correct myself, however, in that I'm not sure 3D World is worse than 3D Land. It's way more inventive with its level and boss designs, and it looks fantastic. It's just incredibly frustrating to play, far more often than Sunshine was for me despite its bugs.

With the rumors of an higher tier of NSO, I do wonder if they'll upgrade everyone currently subbed as a nice gesture, or offer an upgrade fee.
The thing is we have 3 Switches at home so I have a family sub, so it could get costly.

Another update rejected

Now so long as the SMT trailer doesn't show up in an hour and a half it's smooth sailing for an announcement tomorrow (or a Mini I guess)

Would Nintendo release a mini during the Japanese holiday? It feels like a normal direct announcement for the following day (Thursday in US/Europe and Friday in Japan) or nothing at all would make sense.
Minis are often earlier. It could be 10AM ET which is 11PM Wednesday in Japan, and the holiday is Thursday. That said, I'm still thinking it will be a general.

It would be announced tomorrow morning US time(during the holiday) but the actual airing Thursday would be Friday in japan(not the holiday which is Thursday)

Jokes on you guys, Miyamoto just texted me that the new Switch controller is a Switch version of the DS' blood sugar monitor accessory

Feels like there's too much to discuss for it to be a mini. So the announcement should be tomorrow morning at 10am EDT, though since it will still technically be a holiday in Japan at that time maybe a little later than usual?

Either way Direct is on Thursday. Book it.

I assume no chance even the japanese version of n64 online would get Animal Forest. Would be awesome to see though.

Make a Japanese account to play Japanese GB/N64 games.

Especially GB games, I can only imagine what sort of weird titles they'll put on there.

Nah, no chance. Everything that's in that game is in Animal Crossing, so it barely qualifies as a curiosity. It would also add confusion to any potential release of the GameCube title (not that I think that's likely to ever happen either, for different reasons).

Edit: But now I'm imagining if we got N64 Animal Forest, you could play emulated NES games inside an emulated N64 game. That would be incredible.

Was SNES NSO revealed during a Direct? For some reason I'm remembering it just being an isolated announcement.

Also, considering N64 and GB would be the first systems on NSO with multiple colors, I'm all in on buying multiple controllers if they do the GB Pocket/N64 color options. Gimme Jungle controllers Nintendo!

I assume no chance even the japanese version of n64 online would get Animal Forest. Would be awesome to see though.

I'd imagine it'd be there? They put Wild World up on the Wii U VC. Unless there's some issues with the game I'm not aware of.
