I hope the Direct is very soon! I evacuated from Ida and have no idea when I can go back home. It's been very stressful and upsetting, so a Direct would take my mind off things and cheer me up for a bit.

lol they just won't settle on a naming scheme. State of Play, future of gaming, now PlayStation showcase.

With Nintendo we also had Nintendo Direct, Digital Event, Switch Presentation, Spotlight and all the smaller ones

People undermine how much September Direct actually really "makes sense" and that it's not just some baseless conspiracy theories, TGS is happening at the end of the month and Nintendo is always holding a direct there to let third parties announce games ahead of it to showcase them at TGS.
Even last year, the third party direct mini was actually a livestreamed presentation unlike the july and august ones which were just dropped on youtube as a video lol

I am in Europe and I think I am about to buy a voucher for Metroid Dread. There will probably some games in between I would want, but if not, do you think Splatoon 3 will release before October 8th next year? Vouchers last for a year and this is one game I am really looking forward to as of now.

You know guys, Nintendo very likely doesn't give a fuck that Sony has an event next thursday if they want / already planned to have a Direct at that day too.

    PlayStation Showcase is annual, Future of Gaming event is generational, and State of Play is just an "anytime for whatever" thing

    Impossible to say a hard yes, but it's very likely a summer game, so probably yeah.

    Barring a catastrophe, I think Splatoon 3 releases within the next year for sure.

    Seeing folks lament that the PlayStation Showcase will only be 40 minutes long really puts things into perspective. A 40-minute Direct can be chock full of so much goodness! Hopefully, Sony is learning how to do the same thing.

    Unrelated and I can't get into specifics due to embargo but holy heck Tales of Arise's music is good.
