A lot of people know this but I'm a Metroid purist. Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time.. mainly because of how free it is to play once you start to pick it apart. The speed booster tricks in that game are so fun to pull off.
I was a bit concerned they wouldn't bring back speed booster for whatever reason.. Maybe because it's been 20 years since they put out a new game with speed booster in it.
dude I am so hype. It looks great and like the dev team truly gets what makes a Metroid game sick - flying through the world and snapping necks as you go and just being a complete badass as Samus. It's obviously going to be a different thing from Super Metroid and that's okay... but even the new stuff they're throwing in like conserving speed booster through a wall jump? Awesome.
If anything it seems like it'll probably be easier to go fast and be a complete badass as Samus and that's great. The more people who can run through and feel what it feels like to play a game with Samus at her best the better. That should rope more people in to Metroid.

A few days ago everyone was randomly saying "Tales of" something or other. I posted "Tales of Heartburn" cause I had way too many tomatoes that night at dinner.
I'm guessing a mod was just playing along. It's kinda funny, it hearkens back to the January 2018 thread that underwent about 15 title changes (half of which I'm convinced were done by Jonneh ), I kinda like it.

I was already more than sold, now my hype is through the roof! The trailer showed is everything we needed to see, more variety and color on the environments, new abilities, and the soundtrack clearly slaps, it's not just ambience, there is melody and it's very reminiscing of Super Metroid imo.

Dear Lord ..Nintendo is really making me regret not preordering the Collector´s edition of Metroid Dread.
The movement of Samus looks so fluid and it combines so well with the special moves and weapons inroduced in this game.
Just a warning: who doesn´t like even a hint of spoilers, this last trailer has a plenty of them!

Gonna need to blast through Metroid Dread, multiple playthroughs for sure, so that I can enter into November's FFXIV Endwalker + BDSP one-two punch with a clean conscience and a ton of new Samus-related memories.
Funny that, after all the speculation and talk about Zelda's 35th coming into 2021, Nintendo are giving Metroid a huge push for the first time in a long time.
I felt at the time that Samus Returns was meant to be the start of a bit of a reset for the franchise, and Dread looks like the best shot the series has had at a breakthrough entry since Prime - maybe the best shot ever.

November gonna be rough for a lot of people. Imagine playing Endwalker, SMT V, and BDSP. Playing through a mmo is already a commitment, but two other meaty Jrpgs like dang.
Thankfully I only need to worry about SMT V and BDSP. Although my backlog is gonna keep me busy lol.
