So what was the point of the meeting Nintendo held for press? Did they announce a retirement or was it just "hey, we're making money, peace out!"
It was basically
"Yo we want to do merchandising and branch out to make movies and other similar media like TV shows for our IPs again.
But don't worry, we will still make games or else there would be noone that buys or watches the other stuff!"

They sure announced this Partner Showcase differently from the other ones. With 1+ day ahead of it. I don't know, smells like something interesting is in this Direct.
Do we really know that Monster Hunter will be announced. It could lead to great disappointment.
I've always said since the first one that partner showcases would be fun and exciting things if we had an idea of Nintendo's first party plans too.
Given some comments in the DuskGolem thread, that might not be in the Showcase and is instead announced by Capcom.
Though if it is, announcing it before MonHun Switch would be the ultimate troll ... that would be kinda funny for reaction videos. After MonHun Switch could people not really care for the announcement anymore.
In the end, if it's in tomorrow's Showcase, Stories 2 will be the biggest loser of it because it's going to be overshadowed by the other no matter what or when.

Shinobi said it would be announced before TGS, Direct announced way ahead of time, streamed instead of being a video just uploaded to youtube, and at a time convenant for Japanese viewers. It's 100% happening.
I find this pretty surprising. I didn't know so many people use Animal Crossing's online functionality. I was under the impression it was mostly used by the hardcore trading crowd.

I find it hard to track when series use numbers in their naming conventions and then switch half way through.
You track it by the count of the wyvern heads in the logo. Take a look at them. 1st one has one wyvern head, Dos has 2, Tri three and so on. World has 5.

Honestly, the biggest issue I have with 3D-All Stars isn't the graphics, but the fact that Sunshine has a boatload (get it?) of major issues that should have been fixed.
Nintendo is literally shitting all over the game as its marketing campaign, knowing full well they're gonna rake in hundreds of millions of dollars, and you want these guys to give us a Direct when we want one?
But god, that's funny. Translating the captions is fun too. It's like the shitty watermelon physics are like a feature or something.
I'd expect something more realistic from MH Switch, to be honest.
Resident Evil already got a spirit event, so that's sadly out of the running for Smash.
