I keep expecting the ACA Neo Geo games to be on sale due to the current wide interest in Terry Bogard and they keep disappointing me.

Yeah, I kind of got to the point of swinging and hoping and making sure to equip the tuning fork and thunder rod to beat it.

I have some upgrades but I don't know if thats enough. Got a Level 5 Core but I don't know if it like goes up to 10 or whatever.

This game is too vague.

Actually never mind this isn't a spike. The camera keeps the hands off screen at the bottom so it's straight bullshit.

Why do these indie games keep shitting out on me? Fuck indie devs, I'm going to be a corporate sellout from now on.

The "there can be only one" internet rule regarding videogames

It's not even just that Hollow Knight is my personal GOAT or that I'm trying to recapture that, it's that I'm diving into indie titles trying to find something worthwhile and then it just falls short.

River City Girls' ending, Creature in the Well's vagueness, Messenger being directionless, Freedom Planet having terrible combat. There's always something that keeps me from going "yes, all of this and more" for anything other than Hollow Knight and few standouts like Night in the Woods, Detention, and Steamworld Quest.

And it's not like I'm going for the eShop's dollar menu, I'm playing games like Messenger which are beloved indie darlings.

Had my dreams of using the $15 I got for buying Gears 5 on Best Buy to buy a $10 eShop code and then buy Celeste with that money smashed by the fact that you can't use Best Buy "certificates" for digital money codes.

It's half off on the eShop right now. Should be less than ten bucks.

Link on the 20th absolutely kills any possible intention of day 1-ing Puzzle Quest, unless it has a nice launch discount, which atm doesnt seem likely.

Your actually downloading all those at once?
Or you just want the icons to show up?
It's overnight downloading everything (or however many it can actually queue up), I have no bandwidth cap fortunately.

I started with the games I actively play right now of course (Heave Ho and Astral Chain). I cannot sing enough praises for the former as a party game, absolutely brilliant.

It goes to 10. What boss battle sequence are you on? I 100% Creature in the Well without much difficulty.

I got around to playing Bubsy today for a bit and I think it's actually pretty fun. It seems to advance the Runner formula a little more and it feels a little more platformey with more emphasis on jumps with Bubsy and other characters. They encourage you to beat each level with each character and the layouts change based on the character. There isn't much to unlock so far except skins but I haven't gotten too far. The level layouts/checkpoints etc. are essentially similar to Runner. I would definitely say that if you're a Runner fan, you'll like this game even though it seems to get harshly criticized.

when did I make my post about dipping my joycon in contact cleaner that someone said was lewd?

because thats how long my right joycon lasted before going bananas again. Just tried to play some Dragon Quest Builders 2 and the camera is constantly pointing up, good times.

With the amazing port of Grid coming in a week Switch is one game off from having everything I want in a console. I can't believe Activision hasn't worked out a way to get "any" COD game on switch yet. I would take the remaster MW4 in a heartbeat. Hopefully we get a military setting multiplayer FPS on the switch by 2020. It really is a gaping hole in the library.

Why does The Sinking City Bundle cost $2 more than buying the game and DLC seperately? It even tells you it's cheaper not to buy the bundle directly under the bundle's price.

Also, those screenshots are absolutely not the Swirch version, no way. So shady.

Tried the Trials Rising demo, it's really clean handheld, they really cleaned it since launch! Still won't buy it but plays really well!

Heard only good things, I did enjoy the DQXIS demo but the combat felt a bit flat imo. Didn't seem like there was much to it. Really tempted with Divinity 2, too many RPG choices on Switch!
DQ XI hard mode (it's a Draconian modifier in the full game) was the best time I've had playing a turn-based RPG in years. I've posted about this at length elsewhere, but basically hard mode makes the combat much more strategic and engaging and the ease with which you can respec your characters and synergize them in different ways encourages you to revamp your party and tackle battles in different ways. There's also no real grinding required until way into the post-game, it's all about party comp. If you're familiar with DQ VIII, that game had war of attrition dungeon designs where you had to really ration your abilities, squeaking through each fight with minimal MP usage in order to get to the boss with enough juice left. XI in contrast provides more frequent heal spots but the enemies are balanced accordingly, so each fight allows you to put more of your resources into it, making for more fulfilling fights.

Is it known to be an amazing port?

Does anyone know the following 2 things regarding Nintendo Online?

A) is the subscription cumulative? I am subbed until January, if I get a 1 year code will that last me until January 2021?

B) What happens if I sub 1 year for the family plan while I'm already subbed to the single one? Like what happens to the remaining 3 months until january 2020?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BREAKING NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dunno if you saw the thread already but here it is anyway:

Yeah, I picked it up as well, and have been really enjoying it. The dialogue trees are really great, one of the best things in a very enjoyable package; it has been really hard to resist the urge to reset to find out what other dialogue options I missed in some interactions.

How far are you Robin? I just made it to Popo City, and feeling a bit overwhelmed with stuff to check out.

Devs confirmed the Goose launch discount is coming to all regions

I am really getting sick of the disarray that preorder/launch discounts seem to be in lately. Between this game and Blasphemous (just to name a few in recent memory), there is no reason they shouldn't be able to coordinate and have the launch sale start from the day it gets put up for preorder, and extend to the day of their choosing. People who don't read sites like this might preorder thinking there is no discount, then get annoyed to find out they paid extra to have the game sit pre-loaded on their system early but unplayable. Since most developers are working hard to do PR and drive up numbers of preorders, this really isn't a good look.

But you can't pre-order it, it says its $20 but there is no way to buy it until launch when the discount will be active

Ah, okay, I misunderstood the situation with UGG. Still, the point stands about launch discounts. Blasphemous allowed for preorder in some regions, but didn't have the discount until launch. Other games have a pre-order discount, but put it to full price when the launch day hits. There really should be better practices going on regarding discounts at or before launch, as it's kinda confusing to those without their finger on the news pulse like many of us in this thread.

If you're going to offer a discount, I really think it should be done like (again, recent example) Wuppo. Preorder was discounted, and it lasted a few days after launch. From the moment the listing was up, you could see the full price/discount and the day the discount ended. I was able to read some reviews and check out enough of the game after launch to still purchase before the discount ended. This should be the standard if you're offering a launch discount, none of this "gotta wait until launch day for discount to show" or "gotta buy before launch day for discount".

I completely agree you are basically just taking advantage of your best customers, who buy the game early with no impressions you would think you want to reward them like your day 1 purchasers.
But I guess not.

other recent examples include Northgard which had it's preorder discount end suddenly & Oninaki which also had the same only for it to return a week or so later (despite the discount never disappearing on other platforms)

I can't remember a month this fucking packed for a console.

Like, none of these companies thought it might be wise to bump up or down their release date? Lol this is insanely condensed and competitive.

2019 is flying by. I'm in for Zelda definitely. I might pick up some of the smaller games but I'm not sure yet. It's a big month for me on my Xbox as well.

Dragon Quest XI and Links Awakening are both my most anticipated games of the year but they're also two games I've beaten and played to death at one point or another.

Both games obviously has enough new content to warrent me picking them up again, so that's not the problem but it still feels weird getting both those games over new experiences like River City Girls, Blasphemous, Divinity 2, etc.

What a weird spot to be in.

Yeah. Haven't finished Fire Emblem. Barely started Astral Chain. Have AI: The Somnium Files, Link's Awakening and DQ11 preloaded. So I did the only thing that makes sense.

Just bought Divinity Original Sin 2.
