Do we have any hope 2K will patch the Bioshock games with gyro? How is 2K in terms of post launch support of their Switch ports?

I want to buy Infinite, but I don't want to play and then later realise they are adding gyro controls.

Virtuos should be busy with The Outer Worlds right now. Should be a big update, it'll take much of their time. Bioshock updates could come after that.

I'm in the same boat. I really want to play all Bioshock games. But I absolutely do not want to play a shooter with stick aiming.

So anyone pick up TWEWY on sale and want to give some fresh (or old) impressions? I'm still under the impression that it's a terrible port because of controls and should be played on the DS or mobile instead, but the sale (and wanting to replay it on a new system before the anime comes out) is tempting.

I grabbed it and only put in an hour or so. Only tried docked, which requires a single joycon to play(no pro-controller).

Early in, the obvious issue is that the precision with using the reticle to play suffers from being unable to maintain perfect accuracy. It's essentially a light-gun game where you are escorting a character around danger on-screen guiding him with a reticle, while simultaneously zapping enemies with cooldown abilities, all with the same reticle. There is a reset button(Y) that you will be forced to use constantly to keep the aim from being misaligned. It's a technical hurdle the joycon or Switch isn't equipped for and this seems to be the only logical workaround. I am intrigued rather than turned off personally despite that limitation.

Now I expect touch-control in portable works fine as tapping the screen to perform the same can make the constant need to adjust the reticle a non-issue. I also expect that when I play further and gather more skills(pins) and more abilities, I can possibly find loadouts that make TV-play a bit more friendly than the tutorial offers. (I generally prefer TV play personally and rarely play Switch portable).

At $25, you get some real crisp and sharp visuals, a choice between the original music and remixed, and handheld play is probably fine if the joycon gets real troublesome.

I tried Catherine's demo (JPN eShop exclusive so far) and... I'm not impressed?
I love the game of course, but I was expecting it to look better IQ wise especially since it's 30fps (engine limitation iirc it's 30fps even on PS4pro). It looks sub-native (<720p) but I don't see it mentioned anywhere so it might actually be full 720p but man since the whole game is played around cubic forms those jaggies (and lack of clarare a bummer it's also washed out.

I own the original on both PS3/360 and this looks very similar to those IQ wise, but I'm probably misremembering...
again, only (briefly) tested in handheld mode, don't care about docked.

Btw I wouldn't let that prevent anyone from getting the game, it's great and there's ton of new content.

Just saying that some might be interested in pulling down the demo before purchasing.

If you don't mind me asking how much space does it take up (I realize the eshop has a space indicator but that is not always accurate with updates and such)

Why is the eshop so sad these days? Is there something major incoming? Please say yes
What is sad? If anything eShop is poppin' these days.

I bought close to 10 games on sale in the past month. If you are talking new games, I got Project Warlock at top of month and Paper Mario is right around the corner! Vigor might be coming out this week.

Well I'm happy for you guys but I'm not feeling it. I'm waiting for Burnout to drop but that might be a BF sale.

Guys, WARBORN looked legit great, how come nobody talks about it? Turned out a dud? Trailers/info gave me confidence it would turn out a great SRPG but all I read around is about Brigandine.

I'm with you since Burnout's price is punch in the gut and the last exciting release (VERY exciting) was SUNSET RIDERS. But there's still so many great games in my wishlist and double the number on my backlog. Furthermore, it's just a matter of taste because it's undeniable for some folks, say, Deadly Premonition 2 is as tentpole release as was SUNSET RIDERS for me or Paper Mario for others. There's been something as huge as a Zelda or Mario or TLOUS2 in the last few months but the eShop is bursting with quality releases.

Just want to shout out Superliminal. Didn't get a chance to play on the PC, so the Switch port is my first time. Had lots of fun with it. Here is our review

Castle Pillow Games' mind melt of a game Superliminal will test you in many ways, but it will make you question what is reality at the same time.

Is there any technical impressions of Catherine on Switch yet?

I've been eyeing it on PS4 for some time, but never bit since it lacked Pro enhancements. If Switch is 900-1080p docked with the DLC I'm happy buying it with the option for Babel on the go.

Dotemu also rereleased Ys I-II as separate games on iOS, so there's a chance we may get those on Switch as well. But yeah, definitely buying the LRG version

New Switch owner and I wanted to get some indies from the eShop like Undertale, Oxenfree, Hollow Knight and Kentucky Route Zero, but man they are SO MUCH more expensive than on Steam, especially now during its summer sale, that I just can't pull the trigger. Meanwhile I checked the currently discounted titles and just nothing interests me. Also all the AAA Nintendo games are full price, quite depressing state of affairs coming from PC and PS4.

Please tell if I'm missing anything? Does Nintendo have any sales ever apart from bargain bin titles?

Indie sales happen all the time. Nintendo has 4 ish major sales a year and you can see 20% off on first party there but not all first party. Nintendo's been this way a while they value their ips higher and it means they have a higher overhead for a longer period of time

If you can buy them cheaper on Steam then buy them there. Just save your money for something you feel you need to get on the Switch.

There was a huge sale fairly recently that you just missed. Most probably though Steam sale prices will almost always be even lower, and major Nintendo titles almost never go below 30% off during sales.

Japan getting a pair of different games for S/NES Online.

Instead of The Immortal, it's Gun Dec, aka Vice: Project Doom.

& instead of Natsume Championship Wrestling, it's SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI.

SMT got translated when it was ported to iOS in 2014....except you can't get it anymore due to the game never getting updated for newer devices.

Either way, it's always kind of interesting to see the games be different, especially ones the US doesn't have.

???? How is this depressing when you just happen to check the eShop prices after SEVERAL massive sales across regions over the past few months?!?!?

Nah he's right. The sales have been super weak lately too. At least CrossCode and Paper Mario are out soon though.

That's just simply not true.

Curse of the Moon 2 in a few days, can't wait for that
Deadly Premonition 2 and this back to back. I just need to finish my DP1 replay first, which is going pretty well (aside from a couple of crashes losing some progress :( )

I loved the first Curse of the Moon, felt like a great classic CV game and the sequel is looking nice and fresh with the new characters. Day 1 for sure.

I can't wait for Paper Mario and Deadly Premonition 2, I've preordered both even though I promised myself I'd stop buying new games. Is Superliminal out soon too?

Just like with every digital store - you add the games you wanna by to your wishlist and buy them when they are on sale + you get notified. The games you listed are often on sales - its not like you have to wait a whole year for them to be on sale again.

Yeah there are regular Switch sales, and much better than they used to be at launch. They aren't always as heavily discounted as the equivalent as on Steam, but I think it's a fair price for me personally as I'm much more likely to game on my Switch these days than on the PC.

You got your Switch a few weeks too late to miss out on the recent sales.
