We're getting a Romance of the Three Kingdoms game in the west? That's huge!

I mean, I'd prefer Nobunaga's Ambition, but I'll take it.

Am I the only one in this? All the cookies are allowed on the domain name...

Fresh browser install fixed that for me a few years ago. Do you have any privacy/script blockers running?

My Chrome is pretty much vanilla on PC, only have a DNS thing on my phone to block ads. I'll try a full reinstall just in case, thanks!
Or just have a back-up browser. I have like four browser (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium, Brave ...plus technically Edge is still here) for cases when something breaks somewhere lol (it shouldn't be this way but ...)

PSA:

Dunno if mentioned already, but there's a few Hamster's ACA\Neo Geo games on sale.

Among those,

ACA NEO-GEO:
TOP HUNTER Roddy and Cathy

is something that I think every 2D action platformer fan could enjoy. It's platformer/beat 'em up mash up with great graphics, up to 2 players co-op, often overlooked when Neo Geo games are mentioned and it's a shame cause it's also different enough to be a unique game in the platform's library. Btw, check the game's manual (hit + when playing) because there's many cool hidden special moves and they're also different per character.

at 50%off, around three fiddy, you should buy it and show Hamster that discounting different (good)games from the usual 10 same offerings would be rewarded with sales.

Thanks for the recommendation. Bought it this morning and already played a bit with my fiancee and it's a blast. Kind of like a mix of Gunstar Heroes and Ristar

OK so Burnout Paradise seem to have been permanently discounted to 30 currencies, pretty neat if they do the same for their other games too!

It seems like Super Hot, similarly to Cities Skylines, is going to be one of these excellent ports of an excellent game being abandonned by the devs on Switch. It makes me unreasonably salty.

I really hope the new Bravely Default is good since I rather liked the 3DS games.

I'll be interested to see impressions of Kowloon High School Chronicles in a few days. That one has a distinct "obscure PS2" vibe and reminds me of Devil Summoner a bit.

Been really enjoying Heaven's Vault—what's top notch adventure game with linguistic flair! It's been crashing on me fairly frequently though, has anyone else been having technical issues? I also have weird graphical glitches now and then when translating.

I'm also enjoying Heaven's Vault, but haven't experienced any crashes or visual glitches yet. I'm generally only dipping in for two locations at a time, though. I have had a tiny bit of trouble with what seems like joycon drift when translating, but that could just be my joycons finally going bad.

I've had some graphical glitches when going back to older transcriptions and trying to change several in a row. Words suddenly overlap and it becomes a visual mess. Easily solved by backing out of that menu and going back and I haven't felt the need to use that menu for the past 10 hours or so, so it was a minor inconvenience.

I'm at the end of the game, by the way, and this game is just amazing. I love the interactions between characters, learning the ancient script and the whole sense of discovery.

Just booted up my day one copy of the Witcher 3 on Switch. On the one hand, I'm amazed that they were able to get this game running on the Switch at all...I respect the team for doing what they could with the Switch's limitations. They must be wizards.

On the other hand, the game look's like %&$# regardless on what post processing options I choose. About to trade in my copy and pick up the complete edition on the PS4 which just went on sale for $9.99 in NA.

Would only recommend if you have no other console to play it on or prefer to play portably. I don't fall into either camp. All that said, the game is much more bearable in hand held then docked

Good idea.

Maybe an unpopular opinion given the recent success of Nintendo, but unfortunately, Nintendo is more of an Indie/AA machine than it is a AAA machine. The only really good AAA video games on the console are those done my Nintendo for the most part; and that's how I usually approach it. Don't get me wrong: it's impressive what they're able to do with the little thing, but they can only go so far.

I understand where you're coming from but there are actually quite a few AAA game ports that perform exceptionally on the Switch. The catch is that they are from the 360 PS3 generation. Some good examples are Bullet Storm, Aliens: Isolation (Cross gen, I know), Saints Row the IV, etc.

Outside of these, yes, contemporary third party AAA games are not ideal with the exception that they make great handheld games (Xcom 2, Empire of Sin, CIv VI, etc)

How are the Mega Man, Mega Man X, and Mega Man Zero/ZX collections on Switch?
I'll try to only answer about the collections and not the quality of the actual games.

Megaman legacy collection has added rewind for the first 6 games. The second collection only has save states and those are checkpoints rather than a direct snapshot (so no rewind). The first 6 games also feature the Japanese versions. I think there was crippling slowdown in Megaman 5 on 3DS, but not sure if it was in the switch version. The Japanese version had none, so you can play that if you experience it. No performance issues otherwise that I can tell (besides what was originally there), but some people report input delay in the first collection (I am not as sensitive to this, so maybe look at the OTs). There are also challenge modes there are pretty fun reimagining of the stages. 8 is based off the PlayStation version (no Saturn version available). The DLC for 9 and 10 is also present. The second collection was developed internally, so you might notice some differences in presentation.

The X collection has no save states. It's just the usual save system from the games (saves added to 1-3 and also passwords if you want to use those).1-3 are based off the SNES versions and there is reportedly input delay in those versions (I don't notice this like others, but it's been widely reported). The other games seem fine in terms of performance. The challenge mode this time is a 1v2boss rush. It's fine, but not as good as the challenges. These games also have international versions as well. I think a song was changed in one of the later games, that made people upset, but I never played them back then so didn't know. You can buy the first 4 games in one collection if you only want those thankfully.

The Zero/ZX collection is probably the best of the bunch.Itbuses the DS versions of the zero games so has better sound. The ZX games have options for uncompressed sound and the cutscenes are also uncompressed, so they look the best they have. Those games have the touch functions mapped to the right stick and a ton of placement options for the virtual second screen. Unfortunately no touch functionality when undocked. The challenge mode in this is more of a time attack mode. There is an optional checkpoint system this time, so no direct save states/rewind. Japanese and international versions are also playable. This game even has the e-reader cards for zero 3 and the link function for ZX that simulates having the GBA games in the card slot of the original DS. I embedded a great video detailing all the differences between the prior releases

All games have various filter, screen, and border options. Plus adjustable control settings. Hope that helps.

Just bought Haven and played for an hour.

I'm in LOVE with this game. It plays great (60 fps!), looks nice and has a cool premise. So romantic. And a great soundtrack:

The Nintendo World Report review said Haven had numerous bugs, including game-crashing ones. That's why I'm putting it in the "Wait for a patch" pile.

WTF :O ... Ninja Kazan (Iga Ninjyutsuden) came out today, outta nowhere, via Arcade Archives. I've always wanted this on a home system! It was one of my favorite arcade machines at one point, long ago. Great side scrolling platformer with slightly non-linear levels where you can find hidden goodies and upgrades. Dunno how it would be for people who never played it, but for me it's sort of an arcade flashback dream come true <3

Now I just need M2 to get those Toaplan games out that they teased last year.

Capcpom sadly failed with the upcoming Arcade Stadium by not including Black Tiger, but luckily I have that on my Vita.

Wait, the Switch version is 60fps? I wasn't expecting that, but that's great to hear. How does it perform otherwise? Any issues?

Yeah it surprised me too! A few drops here and there but it's pretty solid so far. I did experience a crash when loading a new part of the map. But only once (so far).

Damn, is it actually that good?

Seemed a bit too... lovey-dovey for my tastes, but then again, I'm pretty much the opposite of romantic.

If you don't like lovey-dovey you might want to stay clear lol. There is a lot of that.

Game itself is about collecting stuff and some light combat. The traversal mechanic is really cool and feels great.

I respect the Furi devs for doing something really different with Haven. I'll pick it up at some point.

What I really want right now though are some Kowloon High School Chronicles impressions.
