It wouldn't be Deadly Premonition if there was no jank. It's a part of it's charm! ^^
I don't understand why everyone is so keen to move BOTW to 2021. Seems like you all wish it would come later (don't get me started in the 2022 crowd). I think it could come in holidays 2020 and it seems like a normal expectation. A year and a half after the announcement, with the engine already done, and the main story fleshed out, seems more than enough even after covid-19. Maaybe they could do March 2021, you never know, but some people seem to want to wait.
IMHO Nintendo doesn't really have anything else that can compete with Sony and Xbox. I don't think Mario remasters are enough, sadly. And they have been disclosed already which makes it less exciting than if it was something out of the blue.
With everything that we know they could announce BOTW2 for November next week.

well, it IS a low budget game. believe it or not it looks a lot better than the original.Hmmm I remember it looking alright in the Direct last year but I may have misremembered it lol - that clip looks like its on a shoestring budget.
If anything it's the new consoles that need big guns to compete with the record breaking hardware that's currently selling out everywhere, not the opposite.
Nah, Zelda next year as the peak for the series 35th anniversary makes more sense. And i say this as someone who was in team 2020 for a long time.
Silksong is the one game I'm looking forward to the most out of everything right now.Honestly, I'd be satisfied today if Team Cherry gave signs of life.

I don't even mind them taking their sweet time.
The new consoles don't need much either to compete with "record breaking hardware" lol. They'll sell off hype alone so there's no point there either.

There's a component of hype as well. Even if the new generation doesn't sell much Nintendo wouldn't want Sony and Xbox getting all the press from September to December. You still need to announce something exciting to get the headlines.

We'll disagree. I don't see this major impact when hype will be through the roof for next gen. It's not like there will be crazy stock for Xbox and PS5. Plus, Microsoft is giving consumers the ability to do monthly plans instead of paying it all off at once. I see all 3 companies doing fine.Ehhhh expensive consoles launching in a recession need a lot more help than a cheaper console with a massive library already breaking records.
Not that I think next gen consoles won't do great numbers at launch, but I just don't think it's gonna be anything Nintendo has to really worry about.
I don't think anybody wants BotW2 to come in 2021 - quite a few of us thought it had a good shot at being 2020's big title. But that was before Covid-19 and before insiders said Zelda isn't coming this year.I don't understand why everyone is so keen to move BOTW to 2021. hopefully notIs a Let's Go Johto a realistic game? That could be a big hitter for the holidays, I think it would sell more than the DP remakes due to nostalgia.
I think if this was happening, we wouldn't have two expansions for Sword/Shield coming. I think the expansion pass pretty much rules out a main-series Pokemon title - combined, the expansions are probably the equivalent of a 'third version'. It wouldn't surprise me to see a Let's Go Gen 2 at some point, though I don't know if it'd outsell gen 4 remakes. Is a Let's Go Johto a realistic game? Question is: do we get a Pokemon spin-off, instead? Detective Pikachu Switch? Pokken 2?

A remake of the Johto games games makes me think that the games will be lesser than the remakes that we got for the DS.Man I really want a Johto remake, be it with the Let's Go tag or without it.
I think there has to be a little bit more, looking at the release schedule on the Japanese website, the only first party games with a confirmed release date are the new Paper Mario and Famicom Tantei Club.Man I'm craving Nintendo news like a mf this week, but I still doubt we'll get anything new besides potentially a Smash announcement
Hey, I've been pretty disconnected from the thread these last months.
Has there been any rumors suggesting any kind of information from Nintendo in the following days or weeks, or will they be silent during the "E3"?
Belatedly: I'm glad I'm not alone on the whole amiibo thing. RIP. Here's hoping for a renamiiibossance.
Maybe it'll be announced in today's E3 Direct!

They're announcing and releasing the next Smash fighter in June, so we're sure to hear something.
Other than that it's currently unknown but I expect we'll also get an August game announced (Pikmin 3 probably), and maybe some more info on Paper Mario.
I'm in a good amiibo spot. I have a ton of my favorite characters and would be totally satisfied if they stopped making them...after the smash DLC. I want a banjo amiibo.
The next Smash fighter could easily be the end of the month, sure. Club House/51 Worldwide Classics at the start of the month, Isle of Armor mid-June, Smash Fighter late June.
Though equally, Nintendo sometimes don't give a hoot about the pace of their releases (I'm looking at you, the six or seven Switch games Nintendo decided to publish between August 30th and October 31st 2019).
They also published Dragon Quest Builders 2 that month, and Mario Maker 2 right at the end of June, so 4 games in a month in EU/NA. And that after a fairly quiet first half at retail. Shouldn't complain, though - it was a great run of games.Think they just prefer to release more in the back half of the year, although ultimate alliance 3 and three houses coming out a week apart was a bit weird
