Holy crap, if Granblue VS comes to Switch I don't know what I'm gonna do.
Mini or not, it will be cool to see what's next :). E3 is not that far away, and Nintendo kinda confirmed they'd have something in preparation (i.e. their response to E3's cancellation)

I'm no fan of shadowdropped Directs at all...why ? Because you don't tease your fanbase after a 7 months drought, and could be fun for people stuck at home to have this kind of things to watch :).
Yeah, looks like it'll be a Mini. They probably wanted a general Direct with big 2020 games but since any game releasing beyond summer could be affected by COVID-19 I guess they'll keep that for later when they're sure about it.

I feel like I would have been fine with a Mini back in December or January but 7 months after the last general Direct? I really don't know how to feel.
Let's just hope it will have some nice and surprising announcements at least.
A mini can have later releases, not related imo.
I mean, last general one in September mostly was about games we knew already about.
So a mini can easily do better.

We reached the point where people expect a Direct without being announced first, wonder what the next step will be.
Because there is n blah blah between, just a list of trailers. The one mini we had was fine in length, but it was mostly ports.

Mini simply means there's less anouncements ;).
The anouncements themselves are not really linked to the type of direct.
In January 2018, the Mini Direct announced Mario Tennis Aces. This Mini could do the same, announcing a Paper Mario for June.

Yea, mini means they'll show games releasing up until July/August. I wouldn't expect anything more from whatever we get today. Nintendo is probably very uncertain about anything past that.
And Emily said H1 2020 will be mainly ports so it checks out :D
Cheers. That report is what has been fueling my hopes of a shadow drop. Just happy if it hasn't been backtracked on or refuted since I logged off last night, really. Here's hoping I'm not setting myself up for disappointment. Only one way to find out, I suppose.
On one hand, they showed Odyssey stuff in a Mini Direct, so it's not that Zelda couldn't be a show to begin with.
On the other hand, Odyssey was already released when featured in a Mini Direct, whereas Zelda doesn't even have an official name yet.
I'm 50/50 on BotW 2 being in a possible Mini Direct.

Would be easier to access the collective unconscious and inject everyone the experience of a Direct having happened.
Nintendo has never announced ports at E3 so I can see Super Mario 3D World announced in the Mini Direct.
If it's a Mini I think it's likely down to the fact that there's no telling yet how much disruption there's going to be later this year. It makes sense, given how uncertain things are, to concentrate on the near-term.
Plus, we could still get a Direct at some point in June to coincide with the digital E3, so it's not like this is going to be our lot for the year.
Honestly, I don't think BotW2 will be mentioned in a Mini Direct. I am already seeing an amazing trailer airing at the E3 Direct, with a release date set for March 2021. At the same time, I am asking myself: which game will be the big 2020 holiday game? I don't see the port of Mario 3D World cover that role. And when will this game announced, at E3?
