How many more times will I have to watch that E3 2019 presentation of Animal Crossing until we finally get new infos...
And we still have to wait 10 more days before the AC Direct, fans of a Nintendo franchise never had to suffer as much as what we, the Animal Crossing lovers, are currently are going through now. 8 straight months without any new infos... We got a recap in a Direct for stuff we already knew...

There is absolutely no reason not to play Echoes and Corruption now if you have them. Don't wait for a game that may not even exist.
You should start watching the September Direct of Animal Crossing information now.
Those general Directs all aired during the 2nd half of the month:
October 2011, December 2011, February 2012, April 2012, June 2012, August 2012, October 2012, January 2013, February 2013, April 2013, May 2013, July 2013, December 2013, August 2014, May 2015
Since then, not many general Directs, only 2 a year starting from 2016.
Doesn't matter, tweets are automated. It's always announced at 11 pm there anyway.

gah please for the love of god announce a direct. This quarter suckssss, no next gen news. And great games aren't coming until later next month. Arafsgdjdjdbc snsndbc
They'll want independent outlets to report on the announcement as well. Publications like 4Gamer, Famitsu and Dengeki will be closed, so they would have to plan their articles on beforehand (which means those articles must have been sitting on the servers ready to be published for more than 12 hours now).

it's been a long wait but we are almost there.
Hopefully some new footage soon and in a few weeks we will get to play the game. Just a little bit longer
