Exclusives wise for 2020 I could see. It could be Nintendo's best year ever.

- Tokyo Mirage Session #FE encore
- Fire Emblem Three Houses DLC
- Animal Crossing New Horizons
- eshop titles
- Warioware
- Bayonetta 3
- Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
- Paper Mario returns to its roots
- Pikmin 3
- Zelda BotW 2 or Super Mario Odyssey 2
- 2D Metroid
- Mario Golf or Super Mario Party 2
- Mario Kart team new IP or old IP revival
- Mario + Rabbids 2
- SMTV
- No More Heroes 3
- other third party games

I know many of the games have already been announced or heavily hinted, but every year we have these lists and they obviously never fully occur.

That being said, I wouldn't discard having Mario Odyssey 2 and BotW 2 in the same year, I just don't think we will get as many games as you've stated.

Looking at the 2019 release slate, were we really that far ?

That's what's so great about speculation. I'm prepared to be 90% wrong lol. Every year we make our lists of what will probably come the following year and are mostly wrong. It doesn't deter me from still doing it.

I think another thing to look out for next year is Game&Watch related things. It'll be the 40th anniversary of the product and I'm sure Nintendo will be celebrating that in some way.

I'm sure this has been asked but was Deadly Premonition 2 the game revival that Imran was talking about? (or whichever insider was talking about a game sequel being revived for Switch)

I don't think so. Imran said it was a game that was very publicly cancelled that was being revived. Unless I missed something (which is possible) I don't think Deadly Premonition 2 was ever in production before so it couldn't have been cancelled.

I've been thinking about Deadly Premonition 2 and it's probably the most bizarre thing to show up in a Direct (in a good way!).

Nintendo has always been supportive of weird and unusual stuff, wondering what they will "get" next. Especially Japanese developers worked on some really fascinating if deeply flawed stuff last gen that would be ripe for a revival.

Mario 3Dworld is probably coming as well

Don't know if they would be in the know or not, but Nintendo Force's preview for their October issue lists Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.

It's cool but also annoying that they could be going after better devs/IP rather than something like DP, which is frankly only notable for being a hilariously bad game.

The Obra Dinn bit from the Direct had a scene I think it went like:

You bastards may take exactly what I give you!

Kind of fitting I thought. Maybe I was just reaching.

I didn't even know what the game was. Then I saw this huge topic on the reveal of Deadly Premonition 2 on here. I'm like "oh this must be some big deal. I feel bad I never heard of it". Then I checked the trailer and it only had like 35,000 views lol. I guess I'm not the only one...

Idk about that. If Pikmin 3 comes then that's enough Wii U ports for 2020. Plus Odyssey 2 might come next year. I know they did Mario Maker 2 and NSMBU this year, but I don't see them doing that with 2 mainline 3D Mario games.
That's how I feel. I want 3D World in the craziest way possible, but I just do not see them having 3D World release anywhere near the new 3D Mario game. I feel like if it was coming, it would have happened already. Sad to say, but I don't see it coming.

I could live with that if 3D DK was coming at some point, but that seems very unlikely, especially on the current Switch. That's what hurts the most. I want a new DK game so bad.

DK has become better than 2D Mario for me it's sad it doesn't have a developer who will consistently churn out games and make a 3D DK.

Nate is fairly certain 3D World is coming, for those that missed the Spawncast.

Yeah Emily said the same. It's just when will Pikmin 3 and 3D World will release. King Zell had Pikmin 3 as a 2019 game and that was wrong. It's not even coming in the first few months of 2020 atm.

It's good to look at these handful of insiders for knowing what's coming, but not as much for when games will release since Nintendo pushes those dates so much.

So, where are we sitting with leaks and rumors a few days after the Direct?
  • Mystery Game #4 is being announced this week; New IP by Labo team.
  • The expanded port of Pikmin 3 is still coming; Emily theorised that the company hired to work on the new content is behind schedule.
  • A 3D World port is seemingly like a sure bet.
Anything else?

3D World is a no brainer cos its a great game you can play with Joycons and barely anyone played it first time round.

The only shame is no Miiverse integration, I hope they'll keep ghosts in the game.

This is a full list of everything I've managed to keep track of, too.
