Was anyone else sort of disappointed in the music for Odyssey? It was a step down from 3D World.
I loved it. Bonneton, Fossil Falls, Steam Gardens, New Donk City Festival/Jump Up Super Star, Bowser's Kingdom, Honeylune Ridge: Escape.

Remastered music would be great (though they should probably include a toggle for the original, I know people get picky about that stuff). One thing I hope for even if the games don't get much done to them, is remastered music.
especially sunshine. 64's at the point where it's old-sounding music is nostalgic, Galaxy's still sounds pretty good. But sunshine's is in this weird middle ground and could really use a quality boost.
All three should get it tho
I love both; but i'd give 3D World the win, yeah. Was anyone else sort of disappointed in the music for Odyssey? It was a step down from 3D World.
This! Maybe throw in some of that whacky Retro concept art from their cancelled boo game.
Of course. It was carried by like 7-8 songs. Massive step down from 3D World.
Not at all. 3D World had very few standouts for me. Odyssey's soundtrack has less but much better music. Was anyone else sort of disappointed in the music for Odyssey? It was a step down from 3D World.
Guess I'm in the minority here, but I really loved almost every song for each kingdom. I am kind of biased though, because Cascade Kingdom literally brought me to tears of joy in my first play through lol. (wow what a loser) But periodically I get a few of the songs stuck in my head; Shiveria is such a banger for me because I'm such a sucker for catchy snow themes. But of course Jump Up Super Star and Break Free are both in my absolute highest of tier Mario tracks, right up there with Mario Galaxy 1 and 2's. I will say, the Galaxy games probably have a better soundtrack that I listen to more often, but it's kind of like apples to oranges in my opinion. Also yeah, 3d World's is full of bangers, but I think personally I'd give the edge to Odyssey if not just because of Jump Up Super Star. In some ways, some of the music in Odyssey feels like it's an evolution of 3d World's style.
The Nintendo games I go back to the most to listen to their music are Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime.
Blasphemy! There were a few songs I liked in Odyssey
My unpopular opinion though is that Mario in general just has ok music
I love David Wise. I feel like he should be making music for every entertainment industry.

Wasn't Gods and Monsters a game that was suppose to release just a few months after it was announced?
Ew. That's what the rumor is saying? A full $60 price tag per game? Minimal updates?I believe Nate is telling the truth. 3 3D Mario games with not much work done for $60 sounds about right for Nintendo. Same with Metroid Prime Trilogy HD. I don't expect much from that either.
Hey, same for Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime actually. Those 2 games and Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are probably my most listened songs out of anything. Seashore War, Grassland Groove, and Scorch N' Torch are bangers. The Nintendo games I go back to the most to listen to their music are Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime. I love all 4 of these games and the music from all 4 of them are top tier. There's other games that have great tracks, but these 4 I go back to the most.
What would be your dream NES/SNES game announcement for NSO?
For me it would be Lufia II. It's one of the best JRPGs of the SNES era and it's still not available on modern platforms, for some reason.
I just want to play through the Ancient Cave again, on my Switch. :(
Yeah they thought they could successfully ship a AAA open world game with less than two years of developmentWasn't Gods and Monsters a game that was suppose to release just a few months after it was announced?
Ew. That's what the rumor is saying? A full $60 price tag per game? Minimal updates?
That sounds horrible.
Lmao nooooo, all 3 games for $60 total but likely only featuring minimal updatesEw. That's what the rumor is saying? A full $60 price tag per game? Minimal updates?

Since DKC just got announced, idk. I'd still like Super Castlevania, DKC 2/3, and Mario All Stars to be on there

I love Amiss Abyss too. I don't have the worlds to explain his music lol. It's just too good. Just legendary music.Hey, same for Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime actually. DKC 2 and 3 are coming, I'm sure.
Castlevania probably not, Konami will release some sort of collection down the line, at least I hope so.
Gimmick! is my NES pick; a really great game, and with Sunsoft providing some decent support for NSO it'd be nice to give the game a wider release (and actually allow me to play it in an official capacity). What would be your dream NES/SNES game announcement for NSO?

As a release of some kind, or were you talking NSO? Since CC is a PS1 game and all. But I'd totally take a Chrono double pack!It would be nice to get Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross from Square.

I was thinking a double pack. I haven't played Chrono Cross in over a decade. I'd like to revisit it.As a release of some kind, or were you talking NSO? Since CC is a PS1 game and all. But I'd totally take a Chrono double pack!
The two lyrical songs are more than enough to make me love that game's soundtrack, never mind the surf rock from Steam Gardens and other great level themes like the ones you've shouted out.
(Sorry for the double notifications!)
Super Castlevania 4 is already in the Anniversary Collection from last year. (Physical version coming soon from LRG!) But obviously I do also hope for a second collection of the later games.
The old FF games would be great too. I remember having FFI and FFII collection on PSP. Square is not doing a good job with these games on Switch still.I don't even think about that, because it's so unlikely. I rather bet on Final Fantasy I, that's at least somewhat realistic, because most people probably won't buy that individually. It's my favourite NES game.
Sega in general hate money. Some companies seem to just straight-up hate money. Atlus with Persona on Switch, Square Enix with their vast back-catalog, etc.
Nintendo hates money with the lack of legacy content on Switch (N64 and GC would make SO MUCH)Some companies seem to just straight-up hate money. Atlus with Persona on Switch, Square Enix with their vast back-catalog, etc.

Haha ok, phew. That's way better.No. Three games for $60, potentially four if Super Mario Galaxy 2 is included.
A lot of people have heard of him.Nah it was one youtuber no one has ever heard of versus at least 3 trusted insiders with stellar track records.
Its time to accept Sony has a deal for Persona 5 at the very least
Square Enix is so weird. Crono Cross would be a perfect game for a remaster.

Yep, it's a really good remake.Should I get Metroid samus returns? I haven't touched my 3ds in a good long while and can get a good my Nintendo discount for it and want to play more of the Metroid games.
I have played the original Metroid last year.
