The fact there's a Rewind Time mechanic in that new trailer, I wouldn't be surprised if the subtitle had something to do with time in it. Now that I think about it, that BotW2 trailer makes even more sense why the weird chant in the ruins sounded off. It's played in reverse.

What if the "time traveling" is a recurring theme in the sequel to BOTW? You need to be able to solve time traveling mysteries in order to bring Zelda back to life?

Because, you are falling from the sky when time is moving forward, but you can reverse your fall, drip yourself into the sky when time moves backwards.

Probably the subtitle might be related to the "Majora's Mask"? The Majora's Cadence?

I know the "play as Zelda" ship was already sunk and burned before ever leaving port, but I'd still be partial to Breath of the Wild [2]: The Legend of Zelda.

In all seriousness, I'm stoked to find out what the title is - BoTW is probably my favourite game as of recent years, so this is by far my most anticipated game!

I think with the water droplet and the vocals, they're definitely at least invoking the image of time distortion. I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.

Ooh, well it's encouraging that they have a final name at all for the game. I got the impression from the trailer that we wouldn't see a release for this thing until at LEAST holiday 2022, and names are generally finalized pretty late in the development process.

I wonder when they'll give us a deep dive of this thing. Now that we know there will be no Zelda 35 celebration we might easily go another year with no news about this game D':

There is definitely some kind of major gimmick to the sequel that they haven't shown yet. We're very likely in the equivalent part of the advertising cycle to when they were hyping Twilight Princess, but hadn't revealed the Twilight areas, Wolf Link, or Midna yet.

I'm guessing that either it has something to do with where it is set (Sacred Realm?), Zelda being playable (she may have her own source of abilities separate from Link), or a major companion who hasn't been shown so far (could be literally anything).

To summarize OP, they aren't revealing the title because it will give away the game's plot most likely, so they are saving it closer to launch.
Nothing about making Zelda playable, but my speculation is it will link to Skyward Sword somehow.

In another snippet of the interview IGN did with NOA today, they say they hope to show more in the coming months, up to next year or something like that.

For awhile, I thought the title would be LOZ: Breath of Destruction or Breath of the Corruption, but I don't know. The time elements seem to indicate something else. LOZ: Hero of Time or End of the Calamity would work too.
