I can't believe the Oilers couldn't get the Hawks to take Koske as a salary dump. Just a straight hockey trade for Duncan Keith in this economy.

Like most people, I would rather have Caleb Jones for sure

Please tell me that Poile is stepping down and the organization is putting someone who's not his son (or a dumbass like Chiarelli) in his place

Might be related to Pekka though

"We've signed Matt Duchene to a 7 year extension, in addition Poile will be stepping down…after Duchene's contract has expired at which point Matt will be taking the helm of this proud franchise."

Bally Sports TN is televising it; it's almost certainly Rinne's retirement

"We've signed Matt Duchene to a 7 year extension, in addition Poile will be stepping down…after Duchene's contract has expired at which point Matt will be taking the helm of this proud franchise."

This sounds plausible though

Hey if Montreal can win 3 rounds with Ben Chiarot and Joel Edmundson playing top 4 minutes, why not the Oilers with Keith?

Blackhawks' Duncan Keith trade was best for him and the team

The Blackhawks, Keith and the fans can celebrate their time together and wish nothing the best for each other going forward.

Hawks trying to get MAF for some reason.
The trio we rolled with in net last year were shit the second half of the season. MAF would at least bring a bit of stability back there and maybe teach our young goalies a few things.

Wonder how the Hawks responded to "If the Oilers win 3 rounds" as a condition. Straight up laughing or a subdued chuckle?
Probably asked if they meant next season or over the next decade

Reportedly Montreal is contemplating making moves with regard to Jake Allen rather than potentially lose him in the expansion draft for nothing; whether that means trading him in advance of the expansion draft or trying to make a deal with Seattle so they don't take him, TBD.

Hell of a career by Peks. Wild that he's been a predator his entire career, and he's had a hell of a career at that. Just wish he would have gotten a cup :(

Still waiting for Father Bobby Mac to come out of retirement to announce a Marner for Eichel trade.

"Every year people say this offseason might be extra spicy and it never happ-"

They're doing it wrong, they should've been put on IR indefinitely and traded to the Sens for their last few seasons with cheap salaries.

edit: Disregard this, they want to keeping playing.

The flat cap is actually for once going to make this a super interesting offseason. Buyouts like this will happen, offersheets will happen, and even contracts will take a different look now (longer term and maybe NMCs to appease players and lesser AAV to appease the teams, ala RNH).

Also lol Oilers. That Keith trade when the very next day Suter is available for pennies on the dollar.
