The announcers assumed he'd be pulled. When he wasn't, they said the coach was letting him "finish what he started". Whatever that means. Maybe they'll be some comment about it in the post-game press.

Pretty much this, and good on both of them.

Cooper's a great coach and understands his players well. Vasi is a world-class competitor and if his preference is to play through it, let him play through it. It's not like you're scoring 5 in the 3rd period against Colorado when they're on top of their game.
