Next GTA development well underway, GTA V Next Gen out on March 15th (improved draw distance textures, ray tracing, 4K, 60FPS)

No reason why R* couldn't add in some of the GTAO cars/weapons into SP. Adding some of the stations wouldn't work out however owing to the time-skip between SP and GTAO.
That would be nice. I have no intention to buy the game again, but I would gladly try out online again.
I dislike the idea of GTAV still being a thing over 3 generations just because I really enjoy rockstar games and want too enjoy more of them faster, but i can't help but be excited for 4k hdr 60 fps rt gta v still! and it's free for people who already bought the game on… ps 3 (omg!!!)/ps4?
Yeah, seeing this and asking about Smart Delivery.....I dont know what some are expecting.

This absolutely seems like the Rockstar way to do things. Guess I'll wait on buying this until it hits pc.

I have a PS5 and have never played GTA5.
I enjoyed what I played of both GTA3 and GTA 4 but quit after I kept dying and having to drive all the way across the city to try again.
Is this worth a buy?

I briefly dipped my toe into GTAV way back when it first launched, and never really got back to it. Despite it going on to be the biggest game of all time. PS5 version with all those bells and whistles.. I think it's time to return.
IIRC GTA5 has way more forgiving checkpoints.
It's also a lesser game than GTAIV
Tbh why release GTA 6 sooner when GTA 5 still sells like crazy. It's our fault we still haven't GTA 6 😉
I think now would be a good time for me to finally finish GTA V...but wow...this is gonna be insane! Can't wait for the next-gen version of GTA VI! RDR 2 already looked photorealistic, what will GTA VI look like with that same tech?!??!?! Holy shit!
It's a great game, more forgiving checkpoints like someone else said so maybe the issue you had with 3 and 4 will be lessened.

With Rockstar, every announcement is casual, but is a mega-ton in the industry....

Am I really considering buying GTA V for 5th time in my lifetime? I honestly don't know, I'm only missing one trophy for the platinum so this feels like a perfect excuse to go for it lol
Play it on PC, it is gorgeous on PC...seriously, most of the time, when I am playing the game, I forget about the missions and just prance around...it is a great world to get lost in...
I'm so bitter about how long GTA has been focused around GTA Online that I can't be bothered to get excited until I see an actual trailer for the next title.
I'm probably the only one on the forum that hasn't played over 5 hours of this game. I'll give it another go with this update, but I don't think it will change my view of it.
Surely they are working on an update for RDR 2? I've got the series X and RDR2 but haven't really started it in hopes for an update.
I've now got $13 million banked with all the PS+ giveaways, so I'll get to buy one of those fancy super yachts and maybe 3-4 milli in fancy dresses for my avatar.

From the trailer 4 months ago, I would say there is only RT Shadows.
RT Reflections aren't in the trailer, that's for sure.
I didn't see anything making me believe there was GI. They improved lighting but indirect lighting is still there with the obvious "flat texture" effect.
AO, doesn't seem to but difficult to be sure about that in the trailer.
I was hoping for cross-play for the online. Anyway, depending on the price of the campaign, I think I'll end up buying it. Last time I played GTA V was in 2013 on PS3.

No argument's from me about that, their game releases are always an event.
The last midnight release I went to was the initial release of GTA V. That had people queued up all the way around the block.
I'm all here for whatever Rockstar can manage to do with just PS5/XSX+. First PC game where SSD will be mandatory I bet too.
I don't really know how feasible this would be, but is it possible they could just add a new city to GTA Online? Like GTAVI takes place in Vice City and VC becomes a new zone in Online?
I'm still upset GTA V is getting a next-gen version and not RDR2. I get it's because Online is a cash cow, but I've already played V's campaign twice. And honeslty it doesn't stand out as being a particularly interesting open-world game. I want RDR2 in 60fps and better graphics.
I fully expect this to be the plan. Would explain why Online is finally getting its own standalone version.

Blame it on the fact that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTAV sold an insane amount of copies despite being released at full price.
Yeah, ray traced lighting/GI would help a ton, much like Metro Exodus. I think it's even more impressive than ray traced reflections, but I very much doubt that will be included with this remastered remaster. It'll probably just be reflections or shadows unfortunately.
It needs a next gen patch at minimum though. I guess that's what I would want.
