didn't he say very few of em were and didn't another insider in this very thread state that additional people were just briefed? Didn't klee himself say that ms was not very communicative about their console/dev kits?Xbox Dev kits had been out. There is 0 chance they were not. What went out at that time was the updated dev kit. You don't get from 0 to Hellblade 2 in a month.
Personally growing up with a dad that's a unc alum and an uncle that's a Duke alum I decided to just watch hockey instead and luckily they have started to reward me by not sucking any more.
consensus ?So to sum up the consensus that keeps going on:
Ps5 13TF+ Achieved through 2gHz and some crazy expensive cooling required, 12TF for xbox
PS5 SSD fully custom and 8GB/s+, xbox 2GB/s
DS5 with an lcd
Makes me wonder what da hell did MS waste their budget on then, there's no esram or kinect this time so?
Don't we all just ... "Believe" someone?Unless you count non-committal language from Phil and others who "believe" things.
Yeah, I don't think PS5 is magic. Two-third of those things aren't going to happen. So to sum up the consensus that keeps going on:

No, Matt said they were not communicative. Older dev kits existed. Nothing conflicts with what I posted. So to sum up the consensus that keeps going on:

Everyone always seems to miss the important details that insiders say.
You are the goat
Yeah, I don't think PS5 is magic. Two-third of those things aren't going to happen.
Majority of the posting includes one of those things so that's what i mean by consensus
This is pretty much what I'm expecting.Agreed.
My prediction is:
Xbox has the best GPU
Playstation has the best SSD solution
Xbox has the best CPU
A wash on Ray tracing capabilities
From a marketing perspective :
Identical pricing on equivalent SKUs.
Xbox push the raw power narrative
Playstation push the fastest narrative, plus fancy controller
It's a safe prediction.
Your daily dose Era next-gen thread.
No. On what? I literally just posted a gif on a statement not made by me.
yep.
That's the best indication 10.2 is incorrect.
What do you mean by this?
Probably. :)
Well if one has the better GPU in theory it would have the better ray tracing capabilities too.Agreed.

Were there actual dev kits or pcs built based on specs given by ms? Also how wide were those circulated? No, Matt said they were not communicative. Older dev kits existed. Nothing conflicts with what I posted.
Is there any real world scenarios in which we could analyse the difference in performance of a 10.2tf vs a 12tf RDNA architecture, like a 5700xt overclocked to an X amount or even using an Nvidia card for reference?
Older dev kits? Eh...No, Matt said they were not communicative. Older dev kits existed. Nothing conflicts with what I posted.

I already said everything I have to say a few days ago.

If you're a PS fan, you probably don't.

Also, DXR.Well if one has the better GPU in theory it would have the better ray tracing capabilities too.
You got it backwards.
It's just a prediction I feel good about. But hey - we shall see the differences are at worst 15 percent. Which is nothingThis is the best evidence that the 10.2TF number is incorrect.
I won't pretend to know a great deal about Ray tracing. But based on what I've been reading in this very thread - there's a potential that higher clocks benefits ray tracing more than lower clocks - e.g. The fast and narrow VS slow and wide comparison.
That's the only thing my prediction is based on. Nothing else.
Just chill. We are all just having a bit of fun. I didn't know the plastic business was that serious so to iterate, I already shared everything I wanted to say a few days ago here. Not to sound negative, but all that gif accomplishes is to work the thread into a frenzy.
As per my posts with Senjetsusage - if you have credible information, please share and ask mods to verify. Posting vague replies or otherwise implying that you know better than most - is unhelpful.
For what it's worth. I really want to know more, so if anyone has more information - please share.
It's a difference of Digital Foundry zooming in 400% instead of 500% to spot the difference in grass textures. Is there any real world scenarios in which we could analyse the difference in performance of a 10.2tf vs a 12tf RDNA architecture, like a 5700xt overclocked to an X amount or even using an Nvidia card for reference?
I didn't say more or less powerful, therefore you are wrong.
Ha, that's hilarious. You think Fortnite gets some cool next-gen enhancements? I'd like to see what it looks like with raytracing.
10.2 VS 12?
It's not that big of a difference. It's 15 percent.
10.7 VS 12
It's 11 percent difference.
If Sony gets to 11- it's a 9 percent difference.

Oh, guess the PS5 is indeed more powerful than the Series X if your track record is anything to go by.
