Look deep within yourself for the answer :)Time to upgrade. Sell the old one or turn it into an emulation machine. That's the question.
That's a great battery upgrade, but not a 300 euro one. So no incentive for me to upgrade.
Not gonna lie, I was hoping for some performance improvements, namely in games running at dynamic resolution. Still, I might upgrade in the future regardless, since my launch unit is showing its age a bit.
In August apparentlySeems the new revision will have an even better battery life than the Light. Guess I'll be buying a new Switch! Any word as to when this new model is getting released?
Getting punished as an early adopter. :( Oh, well. This does make the product more enticing for somebody who hasn't dipped their feet into the pool yet.
The "punishment" of having already enjoyed the Switch for up to two and a half years.
Pro Battery
i assume that they use the same battery, but moved the system to a new node to reduce power consumption, so no that wont be possible. Are we able to just replace the battery?
I don't wanna buy another system
They're not putting a bigger battery. It will probably be the same of the original Switch. The battery life jump comes from new internals. Are we able to just replace the battery?
I don't wanna buy another system
It might be. Nintendo already said no new sku this year other than Lite, so the WSJ/Nikkei (was it both or one of them) of a Pro sku this year was either wrong or referring to this new battery version.

So you haven't been playing your switch since March 2017?Getting punished as an early adopter. :( Oh, well. This does make the product more enticing for somebody who hasn't dipped their feet into the pool yet.
looks like the box design is new? My launch switch came in a box w/ a white background as opposed to this solid red one. Hopefully that'll be the telltale sign of a new iteration. I still have nightmares of the SP AG 100 vs 101 and the Nintendo 3DS IPS vs TN screens.Hope there'll be something that'll tell if you bought the new model or not.
This isn't a fair counter-point in the sense that someone who is now going to get a Switch can now purchase the games that I have enjoyed and have a similar experinece, with a more portable console.
And being realistic, at least for me -- I don't replay games very much after I beat them, with rare exceptions. Those two years can easily be "caught up".
Again, see previous post above - the "punishment" in this sense that I could have a more portable console now.

It has a new box; shown on the Japanese website. How would one know the difference from the original model when buying
