Netherrealm Studios officially ends support for MK11, fully focused on next game

I wonder if the last set of dlc didn't sell well and they decided to move on? Really thought at the very least there would be more skin packs on the way. Kinda disappointed, but at least most of my disappointment was already out of the way due to Ash never showing up.
Bring on Shaolin Monks 2. Hopefully.

It's going to be the all Marvel game that was rumored a couple of times, isn't it? Would be better if it was Injustice 3.

I'd wait for more reliable sources (Ex: Jason, Imran, Zhuge, etc.) to come forward before we buy into that specific rumor.
Dunno why they bothered announcing this, they've been cycling MK (2 year gap) IJ (2 year gap) MK (2 year gap) IJ etc for a decade at this point. I don't play these games because I hate the way the movement feels, but I feel bad that people who enjoy them only get at most 2 years with a game before it's taken out back and put down.

Looked like there was hope that they would support MK11 a little longer than they've supported previous NRS titles, but I guess not. Good that they announced it tho instead of keeping the community in limbo.

I have theory that if the next NRS game is in fact Injustice 3 (I doubt the Marvel game is actually happening, WB recently announced that their studios are focusing on known properties), we won't see Evil Superman. I mean, they would have a perfect reason not to bring that version back since it would be in the Phantom Zone.
Instead, they could use another Superman come in and help with the villain. And have "that" Superman team-up with Supergirl. Besides, the Evil Superman thing has been overdone since the first Injustice came out in 2013 and Rocksteady is using for "Kill the Justice League".

To think a lot of trolls complained about this design sayingit was the result of Netherrealm going woke… and the complaints about the "burka"…Demo/arcade ending Skarlet will never be playable now. Why did they cut it? One of the best FG designs ever. :(

They still have one more Lego game in the works (a Lego Star Wars game).
Aftermath was great but in the end it still felt like a normal two year cycle for NRS...I guess when they said they would support it more I thought it meant for a longer period of time rather than the type of content they were adding.
While to me MKX is far > MK11 greater in terms of fun, it is funny this is coming off the heels of a lot of people angry mk11 has "died"... So they went back to MKX (itself a "dead game") in protest of NRS's silence about MK11's lack of future support lol. I think they probably should have said something sooner just to put people out of their misery but common sense would tell you that getting a DLC pack with Mileena and Rain in it just screams "grand finale". It would be nice to see an NRS game get the same kind of yearly support SFV has but oh well. :(

Cyrax and Sektor weren't really "done", their moveset was ported straight from MKX Triborg.
Honestly, I expect them to keep building off of UE3. They've done so since MK vs DCU, and seem pretty comfortable modifying it as needed.
NRS post-announcement hype machine is always the best, with trailers for the characters pretty much each week. Can't wait for that again, especially if it's Marvel
I agree. You'd think if they were gonna axe Kenshi we would at least get his son. But nope, we need more gun characters! Kung Jin was a totally salvageable character as well with great special move potential. Takeda was popular in MKX also so it really makes NO sense whatsoever.
I really don't understand why Takeda is out, they even mention the relationship between him and Jacqui, is like they moving the character forward without having the character.
For the next MK fighting game, I do wish they'd make it an "everyone is here" entry. The models from MK11 are already super high quality. Touch them up along with new moves where required, and bring back everyone from MK9 and 10 who got benched. I still can't believe two of the four "next generation" fighters introduced in 10 got cut from 11.
