Kerry would make for an amazing president. Terrible candidate, though. Very much a "if I could wave my magic wand and make anyone the president" choice.

Kinda strange to see people shitting on Kerry, who was like... one of the most important players of the last decade regarding the Iran Deal and the Paris Accord.

Like, if Kerry was on the ticket I would vote for him in the primary instantly.

two good things that do not irrationally place him above criticism given his current malevolent intentions

It's so sad people in our own party are trying to sabotage us. If there is one thing we can learn from the other side is the constant in fighting is only going to hurt our chances. We need to embrace Bernie as a viable candidate.

The evil intentions of.... what exactly?

Gonna have to explain this to me, because this story is literally someone overhearing a partial dinner conversation.

Unless you really do think Kerry is going to start running.

If it is indeed the case that Kerry is considering running, as the story would suggest, for the explicit reason of stopping Sanders through a contested convention, then that is a pretty evil intention. if your contempt for sanders is so potent that you cant imagine why people see that as a terrible thing to do then i don't know where this discussion goes

Starting to believe more and more the party elites would rather see Bernie lose than Trump lose.

Sitting in the lobby restaurant of the Renaissance Savery hotel, Kerry was overheard by an NBC News analyst saying "maybe I'm f---ing deluding myself here" and explaining that in order to run, he'd have to step down from the board of Bank of America and give up his ability to make paid speeches. Kerry said donors like venture capitalist Doug Hickey would have to "raise a couple of million," adding that such donors "now have the reality of Bernie."

It's beyond obvious Kerry isn't going to run, especially because he's already campaigning and stumping for Biden.

Kerry would be a better president than anyone in the field except Warren and maybe Bernie. No chance of winning of course but he's do great at the job.

The fact that Dems are terrified of Bernie verifies his entire campaign being a force to be reckoned with. Lord forbid a candidate won who actually looked out for the little guy first and foremost. It's going to be difficult for Dems to save face after the way they're retaliated against Bernie's gaining traction in both '16 and now '20. They're really showing their ass here. It's not like all of his ideas which they're so afraid of would get passed through anyhow. If Bernie loses the primaries because of their bullshit corporate agenda, then they only have themselves to blame for four more years of Trump.

I think the Democrats who have been career politicians have a much better gauge on Bernie Sanders than the voting public does, and I think that they view him as a spoiler candidate who is propped up via Russia. And I think that's an accurate assessment, personally.

I don't think it's so much that they are "establishment"/"corporate" and afraid of "socialism!!!!" and more likely that they view him as a tool to facilitate the United States' destruction. Some on the left would argue, foolishly, that the "US's destruction" would be a good thing. But I don't agree with that view point.

Sanders has spent a good portion of his time the last five years attacking the DNC, he specifically targeted the DNC in 2016 on the last leg of the primary.

It's not a shock the DNC doesn't like Sanders, this has been retreaded over the last few years, especially with the reality that Sanders doesn't have many allies. What allies Sanders does have he would likely install in places within the DNC/Executive Branch and completely overhaul it.

Some people see this as a good thing, some people are afraid that the people Sanders surround himself with would basically be unqualified cronies, the latter is likely what the DNC is afraid of.

people are talking about the story because he's talking about it. even if it is clear that he's not going through with it. if he had not made these comments, people wouldn't be criticizing him.

Yep, Bernie Sanders and all his supporters are a plot by Putin to destroy the United States.

You figured it out.

Every time I hear someone say we can't have Bernie ger the nomination, the more I'm convinced he's the one to pick.

He'd be my third choice behind Warren and Bernie but entering this late is a terrible idea for the race

Why is everyone that is potentially popular 70+? Seems like that whole generation wants to run.
