They load them up with VC is why. Nothing will change cause the majority of the playerbase will continue to buy sums of VC.

In years past you could spend like 1000 VC to convince a guy to sign an extension and stuff like that. Your owner gives you VC rewards for meeting his goals. The payout of playing a manager mode game though is very small — 250 or so instead of say like 1200.Guys, if I'm only playing single player season/manager mode, how much do mtx affect me?
I assume I'm in the minority, though.
Do they review it as a Basketball game or a Casino game though? Maybe it's pretty good as a Casino game?!
Extremely long load times, because everything is server side
Game crash after almost every game.
Progression frozen.
In 2K the servers and VC go hand in hand. They always gotta update through the server when you earn/spend VC. So you could literally finish a game, earn VC and then its crashing theoretically which seems to be what is happening on occasions. It's funny how the NBA 2K community is upset because servers are broken, and this thread is people projecting that it's actually about microtransactions.
It's funny how all the money they make from MTX isn't used to improve the core product. It's funny how the NBA 2K community is upset because servers are broken, and this thread is people projecting that it's actually about microtransactions.

Which is why I trust community reviews more than the garbage IGN and their like spews
EA needs to step up.
The best thing it could happen is for a sports game to have a strong competitor.
I mean, every 2K game is like this, it really doesn't matter, people still buy it on Steam.
I experienced none of this. Maybe the load times are a little longer than last year? Certainly not "extremely long" though.
This whole weekend I experienced it. After finishing a Park game, it just freezes for 3-5 minutes. Trying to upgrade your attributes takes forever, yesterday I couldnt even do it. When I went to apply it I kept getting "purchase failed"
What platform are you on? Seems like maybe PC got it worse than consoles.
Extremely long load times, because everything is server side (even offline modes)
People need to drop 2k for a year. Should have been this year when they uploaded that gambling trailer
I bought last year's game and I apologize
Fix your fucking game Shaquille O'Neilhe's the only person they could name associated with the project so
Stop buying it, and get NBA Live whenever it comes out instead. The Create-a-Player modes don't have any mtx, and progression to starter levels is actually pretty quick. I hope EA still plans on releasing it instead of cancelling.
