What's the Ewing theory?

essentially a star player leaves the team or gets injured, and the team actually improves or is better than when the star was on the team.

The perfect example is Bryce Harper being on a perennial mediocre Washington Nationals and being a high profile star but never winning, but then the next year Harper leaves and the Nationals win the World Series

Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Team improves when they lose their best player.

Toronto had a pretty good winning record during Kawhi's load management so it should not be a surprise that this squad is good without him. Maybe not going to win a chip but still really good to go deep into the playoffs.

The Raptors won the championship though, they were already the best team. This is just proving it wasn't just Kawhi carrying the team, he's one of the best in the league no doubt but the Raps are showing they already had a lot of good players. I think people forget they won 59 games the year before he got there and it certainly wasn't all because of Demar.
