SMT V was a follow up to a game that did 600k world wide and the scope of the game barely ran on switch. What do you think the follow up to a game that did 5 million is going to be like? It's skipping ps4 too despite them making ps2 games in 2008 and ps3 games in 2016.
Persona 6 skipping the PS4 is the hardest one to believe of all. I'm still fully expecting it to be the lead platform, with the PS5 version being enhanced from there

The scope of that game is smaller than most of the open world games that have been on Switch since 2017, and they ran better on the whole at that. SMTV having issues is more on Atlus than it is on the hardware itself.

Wasn't Resident Evil Revelations 3 confirmed to be a "bigger scope" project and thus changed its name for Resident Evil Outrage according to Dusk Golem?

Why is this "new"?
Outrage and Rev 3 are unrelated, as far as I know

I can see why they would get confused but they were always different projects

As someone who was just introduced to FE this year with Three Houses, this makes me excited!

God no, please, I want P6 to be made for current platforms first - so we get decent graphics, and then ported down the line to switch.

This is the way to do things. Don't make these types of games with the Switch in mind, just down port them to the best of your ability after they have been made.

Nate is full of shit a good portion of the time. When are going to see that?
He got the Switch Oled right. He leaked a sony event months in advance when no one else said anything. Got Alan wake 2 right at the Game Awards. He doesn't have a 100% track record, but he clearly knows stuff. All insiders should be take with a grain of salt, but none of this is hardly shocking.
He did not get the OLED correct. He was 100% on board with a switch pro with dlss.

UE is a heavy engine on switch. The only big game that runs well on it without running at like 360p is DQ. Unreal engine persona with sequel to 5 million copies selling game budget is likely not running on no switch.

Don't switch fans say this about every game that doesn't run well on switch? At some point, maybe it's the hardware...

FTR it does not' barely run' on switch (highlarious)

What are the splits like for the Persona series in terms of global sales vs Japan sales? At some point with some of these series as we see growth for them outside of Japan/globally you have to wonder if the focus will shift a little making, say, releasing only a PS version , or even a PS5 version, something they are okay with.
In just japan both 5 releases are probably 850k out of the 5 million.

Persona's continued exclusivity is one of the most bizarre things in gaming today.

Most of this sounds like informed speculation to be honest. Prime and Genealogy remakes are things that have rumored forever. Pixel Remasters and P6 being console exclusives would be a little weird but not that out there.

prime remaster has been coming every year since 2012

i'll believe it when I see it

it's also going to suck compared to what you can do with dolphin so eh
It doesn't help that we've been trading down with seemingly every evolution of this rumor. Gone from Prime Trilogy Remaster to Prime 1 Remake to Prime 1 Remaster. I'm expecting by 2024 the rumor will have evolved into it just being a straight emulation of Prime 1 GCN being sold at $60 for a limited time.

I can believe P6 as PS5 exclusive if it will be released in 2026... if P6 is released in 2024 or earlier, it will be on PS4.

I'm ok with all of that, if it has any hold in reality to begin with.

Switch desperately needs games to stay relevant to my interests - after the fantastic SMT V the well is starting to look mighty dry. Metroid Prime remaster, Fire Emblem and a new Xenoblade game are all high on the list of things that interest me on the Switch.

Persona 6 exclusive to Playstation (5)? Who is really surprised? I'm certainly not.

Persona 4 on PS4/Switch? Neat. But I already have the Steam/Vita versions and thus no need for anyting else.

I mean, I still expect P6 to be on PS4 as well but I can believe it being exclusive considering we are talking about a possible 2024-2025 game.

If this Metroid prime remake is real I wonder what would get me to buy it. Switch isn't exactly a graphics powerhouse so it won't be that.

I'm sure it's targeted more towards people who never played it to whet their appetite for 4 though.

If it really is real, I hope they don't keep us waiting too long for the Genealogy remake.

Prime as well, I've been fighting the urge to break out the GameCube--although I might still do that for Prime 2.

Really hoping Nate is right on this but I'm skeptical after his hinting of Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and GB GBC coming to NSO still not materialising

Persona is interesting because it's a game about Japanese culture and HS in Japan that is heading to being sold near exclusively for people in their 30s outside of Japan.

Weird situation.

Think it's a missed chance to not do a Metroid Prime trilogy and not sell that remaster at full price, would be shitty if it's just the 1st game remastered at full price.

Persona 6 at best might be a timed exclusive and Persona 6 Supreme Edition or whatever the heck it will be will be multiplatform.

Resident Evil Revelations 3 being Nintendo only seems pretty bad given RER2 was multiplatform. Maybe it was funded by Nintendo I suppose.

House of the Dead not releasing in say July or August vs throwing it in the crowded month of March seems DOA, shocked that's being done.

New Fire Emblem (especially before the likely-to-be-Genealogy remake) is pretty hype, if it manages to not get delayed (and possibly is pretty far along?)....though I wonder if that's being saved for the fall/winter schedule, even if I'd hope it's spring/summer.

Persona staying Playstation exclusive isn't too surprising, but going 'current-gen' only would be pretty big, IF Atlus/Persona studio can actually make good use of the new tech advances

Hardly anything exciting for me there besides Metroid, which is still whatever so far because if it happens to be a single game remaster for $60, they can keep it. (I'll probably buy it anyway lol because Metroid). Fire Emblem is a series I couldn't care less about, ever, and Persona… I never finished Golden and have no desire to start 5.

Nope! (Sweat smile emoji, etc)

I've just known for quite a while that this game's been at that weird spot Nintendo keeps stuff sometimes where it's damn near finished but awaiting scheduling. Fascinates me how they manage to pull that off.
Is this referring to the new FE for this year or the FE4 remake?

I hope the Prime remaster has a good amount of effort put in and isn't just the original in HD having been sliced out of the Trilogy HD Collection that they've supposedly had in the vault for years.

I do not believe in a PS5 exclusive Persona 6 without a PS4 version unless it was paid for by Sony.

I do note that P5 is one of the third-party titles that are part of the Playstation Collection, which makes me suspect Sony are very inclined to throw money Atlus's way on that front.

Yeah, that's what I see happening too. Persona 6 'Deluxe' or whatever upgraded version they make 2 years after the fact will be PS5 exclusive. lol
Yeah, that makes WAY more sense to me and is in line with what I'd expect out of ATLUS. Same company that decided to port over a Persona fighting game spin-off to multiple platforms after the success of P4G on PC

Wait a sec, new switch FE in 3 years? Less than that? Is IS doing anything else these days?

Must be 3H related.

My guess would be that it's mostly the same team of a mixed group of KT devs with some of IS contributing/supporting...depends on how much overlap there is with the other FE remake in terms of where IS' focus is at dev-wise.

Those are some spicy rumors.

Been wondering when we'd finally get some FE news... I love a short wait between announcement and release so that'd be amazing.

that's an even greater disparity than I would have guessed. From that standpoint I can sort of see Atlus' (or really any other Japanese developer that might make something PS exclusive) logic as the Playstation is a pretty huge global brand that is expanding in other regions even as its diminishing in its home country. I imagine its not the craziest thing in the world to think you can make up for the losses in Japan as your franchise grows globally and expands to markets where PS is growing, and that kind of global growth is something a lot of these publishers are after.
