How's One Piece Unlimited World Red? Trying to get into One Piece but don't feel like watching a million episodes. Should I get the game if I have never watched the show?

It's a standalone story from what I hear but the Pirate Warriors games are better and 3 is cliffnotes version of the story up to Dressrosa(with a non canon ending).

Also I recommend reading the manga, it's faster and better paced than watching and if you're in the US the Viz app has a 2$ month sub that gives you access to the whole manga(and a bunch of other Jump series)

The Puzzle Of A Lifetime

The first time I played Gorogoa, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

From the Drakengard composer...you know, part of the Nier series, that series that the whole world now loves somehow.

One of the most imaginative games out there.

A tower defense game that doesn't feel like one due to it also being a twin stick shooter.

How's Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition on Switch? The price is super tempting.
I'm curious about this as well, the reviews at the time of release say there were some little performance issues, but I can't find any update on that, if it ever got fixed or if they really are no problem at all.

Does Bloodstained perform well on Switch? I heard it was a unplayable mess at launch.

I bought Bloodstained. I should've just played Hollow Knight which is in my backlog. This game doesn't really play well.

The game is amazing on every other platform. It's really sad to read this.

You should put this on hold and play Hollow Knight (One of the best games ever made IMO). Maybe one day they'll fix Bloodstained?

I have a few other games I want to play first, so I'll give it another try soon hopefully with a fresher perspective on it. The game failed to boot up the first two times I tried to open it (after company names and before the title screen it got stuck on a white screen), which kind of put a damper on things.

Seeing lots of people on the fence re: Grindstone. Just swinging in to say get off the fence and get this game if you're even casually interested. It's fantastic and has more than enough content, addicting gameplay, and awesome music to justify the cost. One of my favorite games on switch already.

The game was really buggy on release but it's been patched since then and when I played it I personally didn't encounter any issue. Game is a really fun, albeit very traditional jrpg (which may be a plus if that's your thing).

Considering 1979 Revolution, Blossom Tales, EARTHLOCK, and Oceanhorn. Anybody have anything nice to say about these games?

Blossom Tales is probably the closest homage to A Link to the Past that you'll find among recent releases - which makes it a very good thing in my book. Oceanhorn certainly looks the part as a Zelda-like, but ends up being a much more shallow experience.

I will emphatically say that Horace is one of the best games of the year and the textbook definition of a hidden gem. There's no reason not to try out what is essentially an incredibly unique and well done experience clearly made with an unbelievable amount of care and love when it costs less than a okay-ish cup of coffee.

If you like Super Meat Boy, great storytelling that can be both hilarious and genuinely profound, awesome characters, insane genre shifts and just playing something that doesn't really feel like anything else out there; you really have to get this.

...And then make a cool LTTP about it later so that we can discuss it because I'll honestly never do it. This shitty little write-up is all you'll get, but trust me on this one.

I will also vouch for Blossom Tales if you liked Zelda: ALTTP. Great little game but much shorter than ALTTP. Ocean Horn I believe has a demo. Wasn't enough for me to buy it though.

I really wish that the bigger retail games would actually get 80%+ discounts. It's so rare. I think Bandai Namco (and Ubisoft) is the only one who do anywhere near that amount. We had Superbeat Xonic and All-Star Fruit Racing and Kodama, but those are uber niche and you can sort of see why they'd plummet their prices. But I also see that as setting a bad precedent, setting expectations that other games could go that low, but still.

Outbuddies DX looked cool but I decided against buying it because it has low-ish reviews. Well, it turns out it's not only great looking but really fun too! No idea why reviews are not exactly glowing. Really recommended if you're looking for something Metroid-ish.

How is it that Nintendo never puts their 1st party dlc games on sale?! I have yet to see smash dlc, splatoon, luigi's mansion 3 dlc on sale.

But is it too difficult? Because I don't really like very challenging games and I would hate myselft for buying it and not play it for long because it is too difficult, even at that price.

I bought Earthlock some time ago. I'd say it's a fairly competent JRPG style game that has a unique battle system, if a little slow and a little too structured into you playing a certain way (somewhat like FFX, with different styles of attacks for different enemy types). I didn't beat the game, but I could tell the quality was there for a decent experience. I think they're planning a sequel and the first one was good enough that I'll take a look at it when it comes. Production values are limited of course but I thought it was really good looking for an indie RPG. It's nothing special but if you're a fan of the genre and the price it's probably not the study way to spend some money, but I can't say it was a hidden gem that I've shouted from the rooftops about.

It's definitely not as hard as Super Meat Boy or Celeste. You'll definitely be challenged by some sections but the main point of comparison is that it has an instant restart and you'll probably die a bit more often than playing something like a Mario game; but it's not overly difficult or daunting other than it being a pretty long game for a platformer.

Personally, at chapter 7 of 22 so far - yes, it's significantly too difficult given that generally I see the game being talked up based on its story, and is getting frustrating. I'm invested enough now that I'm going to try to stick at it, but had I fully appreciated the level of difficulty beforehand I'd have been much less likely to play.

I've beaten the core of Celeste without assists, and I'd rate Horace's accessibility as significantly lower, as the difficult challenges are for much longer stretches that those of Celeste.

How is it that Nintendo never puts their 1st party dlc games on sale?! I have yet to see smash dlc, splatoon, luigi's mansion 3 dlc on sale.
They did put the octo expansion on sale one time, but that was it. If you look on Amazon, you usually can get fighter pass 1 on sale for a couple bucks off. But the larger point stands. Nintendo retry discounts DLC. Been hoping for a BOTW DLC for a whole, but yet to see it.

Picked up Bloodstained because I swear I remembered reading that patches had come out for it, but man. This definitely runs like crap. Had a couple crashes and freezes, and load times are nuts.

really enjoy it when I can play it though

Thanks for your input on that. I was almost convinced on buying, but if it still in that state, I'm not that convinced :/

I will probably buy Tales of Vesperia or something else but I really want to play Bloodstained, but I have no PS4/5 or Xbox system or a PC capable of running it, only Switch... but I really don't to spend more than $5 or so $ if the game doesn't feel fine :/

Yeah I have expansion 1 already. Don't have two yet. I know by industry fighting game standards, we're getting a better deal than other fighting games per fighter, but $30 does still sound a bit steep. Waiting for them to discount pass 2. I hardly even play the game anymore, tbqh.
Maybe we'll get a botw with all the dlc in it's 5th or 6 year...

Just wanted to add my voice to the Horace recommendations... It's a no brainer for 2$.

Not the best platformer in the world gameplay wise but it's such a weird and funny game (humor is very dark fyi).
