Samsung LNT 4665F.

Cost a pretty penny back in 2007. I'm amazed how much prices have fallen since then. That being said, it's still a workhorse with incredible picture quality. A 4K TV is probably coming in the next year or two, but it's been a solid investment.

Nah. Bravia only lasted 4 years before a strip of dead pixels appeared on one side of the screen. The Samsung that I got as a replacement is still going strong after 7 years though.

I literally just upgraded from 28" 720p Vizio HDTV a few days ago. Been using it for years, heh.

I've had multiple monitors, however.

I bought a Samsung 52 inch in 2009. I had the power supply replaced in the first year. About a year after that I replaced 7 capacitors on the power supply out of warranty. I replaced the capacitors again last year. I will buy replacement next time.

My previous TV was a 61 inch Sony rear projection. The colors were off after 8 years, but it was still working when we gave it away.

Well, my first is still around but I gave it to my mom. Sony XBR with side mounted speakers. 10 years. Really nice sound. My current unit is only a little younger. Sony XBR also at 9 years.

I have 2016 B6 OLED in the living room, which suffers from burn-in from Tetris 99.

In the bedroom we have two 8+ years old Samsung LCD TVs, both working perfectly. A 1080p 45'' that my GF uses to watch TV and I have a smaller 32", 720p one that I use for bedroom gaming, usually retro stuff like Dreamcast (because it has a VGA port!) and N64 through the EON HDMI adapter.

Not my main TV anymore but my 2005 Sony Bravia 1080p is still going strong.

And is the reason I haven't bothered upgrading to 4k. You have any idea how long it took for "future proofing" by getting a 1080p set in 05 took to come to pass?

Edit: looks like maybe it was 06 looking up the model number. Was ahead of the ps3/wii launch but not sure when exactly.

My 30 to 40 inch Sony Bravia (dont know the exact size) from 2011 which was my first HDTV is still rocking, its just a normal TV used in our R&R room - rarely used only when my folks want to listen to music or to watch something through the Roku.

Other than that I have a 75'' Sony x900f and a 55'' Sony x900e are the only other two 4K/HDTVs I have.

Sold my first Bravia (32" Bravia from 2010) to my fiancee's aunt after we moved in together. Apparently it still works great.

We replaced it with a 50" Panasonic Plasma in 2012, and have just moved that into our bedroom. We now have a 65" LG CX.

Been using my first 1080p TV since 2011. It's my bedroom TV right now. Still works pretty well. What's crazy is that the time difference between getting that TV and my current living room TV is less than getting my living room TV to now. I want to upgrade but haven't felt the need to yet.

I've still got my first HD TV that I bought in late 2006. It was a 26 inch RCA one. Was great for college. I don't use it much anymore though. It lasted a long time though. I used it regularly up until around 2018.

The second one I bought though, a 42inch LG that I got in 2010, I still use it to this day. Sure it's not as good as my main TV these days, but it's still plenty good for a bedroom TV.

I JUST retired my 13 year old 32" Sharp Aquos a few days ago. It has been my bedroom tv forever. The thing still works great and I wouldn't have replaced it if my wife hadn't asked for a new tv in there for xmas. Pretty sure it will be doing kids room duty next.

Currently watching The Expanse as I write this on my 46" Sharp Aquos, 2008 model - was the first 1080p set they offered. I think I paid $3500 CAD for it?

It's my living room TV; my home theatre has a new 75" Sony XBR-900..

Vizio from 2008. I don't use it myself anymore but it still works. It developed these strange white splotches a few years ago on the top part of the screen but they disappeared for some reason.

mine is a 2008 dynex, 720p - probably 32 but no idea. i see no reason to get a new one. but parents do have a dead tcl 4k tv that i think might need a new power board, but i need to figure that out first. otherwise, dynex mama just works fine. lots of inputs too, like s-video! :D

My 7 year old Toshiba still works fine. I think my parents have a 15 year old VIzio that still works, remarkable because if I remember right Vizio TVs were pretty crap back then.

My 32" bravia HDTV from 2009 just "died" a few weeks ago. I say died cause a few years ago the TV didnt want to turn on so we bought a new one and suddenly the TV started working again so there is a chance it will work again.

Rockin my 40" Samsung from 07. I just put in a new power board for it back in April. Was glad I did. I love the picture on it. Paid 2 grand for it then. The 50" Toshiba 4k we got last year on black friday for the living room was $250. I like the picture on the Sammy better, use it as my main gaming screen. Has svid, component, couple av, and 3 hdmi. Can't get that shit anymore.

Man I was just thinking about how my first HDTV was a 27" Sharp Aquos LCD and it cost $1600+ back in 2007. That tv was actually great. Far, responsive, looked amazing. Weighed a ton. Nice remote. I remember playing GRAW and Tony Hawk Underground on it. 720p/1080i

I sold it at some point for like $300 if I remember correctly.

I lost my Samsung CRT HDTV a long time ago. Got it on clearance at Target for $100 back in 2005. I loved that TV. We still have our second HDTV, though. A 50" Sony Bravia and it works like a champ. No need to buy another big HDTV until that sucker dies.

My Panasonic 42" 1080 plasma going on 11 years-ish. Once while playing Need for Speed 2015 I started getting green artifacts on the screen I thought my tv finally gave up the ghost...nope it was the game. Not a pixel out or any other issues.

I only just replaced my first HDTV from 2010 less than a month ago. Still works great and I set it up in another room for guests. Love that thing to death honestly but since I got my PS5 it seemed like it was time to upgrade or else there's not much point.

So what happened to Sharp? Do they not make tv's anymore? I just bought a TV today and I didn't see any Sharps in best buy.

I still have my 9 year old Panasonic plasma. The power supply went out earlier this year so I bought an LG C9, but I got the plasma repaired and put it in the basement.

The only TV I own is a Samsung 720p 32 inch from like 2009

I haven't turned it on in like 3 years minimum, I use my monitors for basically everything (including playing consoles)

My Sony plasma is 11 years old or so and running strong. I did have to get it replaced earliy when it was still under warranty though.

I also had an old 720p HD CRT that still worked until I sold it two years back. I bought that back during the Xbox 360 launch.

My parents still have a TV that's like 40 inches or something from over 10 years ago in the living room. I asked them if they wanted a 4k TV and they said they didn't know what that is, but they do want to buy a bigger TV.

I know that some boomers not knowing what 4K is should be expected, but they knew what an HDTV was when those became a thing.

I personally don't own a TV, but I still use the same 26 inch Asus monitor as a TV-type device that I was using seven years ago.
