well that was a hard gang fight

QG1f24Y.png

I attemped this quest around 10 times but there was always a straggler hidden somewhere up there. The soldiers would run in circles around the block looking but never found anyone.

Eventually gave up, enabled cheats and used a shortcut to kill everyone.

Anyone else getting crashing while moving around the map? I'm only a couple hours in and it's happened twice, cause seems random just starts to chug and crash to desktop.

This game has a lot of potential but it's pretty rough. Several types of quests won't complete for me and I'm often getting infinite load screens that I have to close the game for.

also it's more of a grind than warband was and most of the cheats to mitigate that no longer work.

I probabaly won't play too much more before I hang it up and wait for patches and mods.

Bought this in the morning and played about 11 hours today...really enjoying it. I never played any of the other games and didn't watch much gameplay so i went in pretty blind.

I've only had one crash and a couple texture glitches, but besides that it's ran flawlessly.

so put in about two hours

Interface is really bad. Got two TPKs because I didn't realize I hadn't actually equipped what I bought

But it is fun. I like the combat system (not sure if it is particularly different from Warband or if I just learned how it works) and, like before, I love the arena battles when I don't get screwed over in terms of weapons

But yeah... assuming it is me forgetting how to play the game but my spear/sword combo seems pretty dangerous. Feeling I should grab a bow instead.

The directional shield blocking has destroyed my zen. I used to be pretty good with shields, but now I keep fumbling blocks and getting hit...
Very tempted to get this, I was saving up for Resident Evil 3 remake but I feel like its gonna be similar to 2.

Not to mention I have the 20% discount for Bannerlord...ugh what to do.
If you like Kenshi, you will like Mount & Blade.

And your other post about momentum-based damage, yeah that's in. In the bottom right there's info for every attack, including relative velocity (which modifies damage dealt). So something as simple as moving towards or away from an enemy while performing the same attack can alter damage, sometimes dramatically.
My character has 2 intelligence and is level 5 in that skill that lets you add more people to your warband. I put 2 "encouragement" points into that skill, but I have gotten zero xp in it for the past 2 hours. Is this character screwed? How do you increase the amount of troops you can take?
I was trying to figure this out, and I think that skill just raises really slowly if you have low morale (i.e., are losing battles) and a small army. I wasn't getting any XP in it for a looong time, then suddenly gained one level in it outta nowhere.

Once you increase your clan level (by completing the first non-tutorial quest) your army capacity will basically double. Certain perks, and I think your total renown, also increase max army size. It's not explained well, but basically don't worry about your army capacity--like everything in the game, it gets better just by playing.

With the treasure quest where you are supposed to speak to nobles - I can't find any all the castles are empty - anyone resolved this?

I narrowed down the crashes I've been having, its an escort mission from Daven the silk vendor in Tyal. The escort needs to visit two settlements, but when it gets to the first it hard crashes. I tried sending the bug report but that too errors out (lol). The game prompts to try safe mode, but that too crashes.

I have a save from about an hour earlier so I guess I'll try rolling back and see what happens, I'll avoid that quest though. I was quite enjoying it otherwise, slowly building up my army of recruits and converts.

I haven't finished that quest myself yet, but I've spoken to 3 of the required 10 nobles - all of them were faction leaders I happened upon randomly in the field. They had a blue exclamation mark next to their name.

Upgrading troops can require spare horses in your inventory, which is cool.

BUT! Be careful upgrading because if you have, say, a thoroughbred(!) you won in a tournament(!!!), and it's the only horse left... it, too, will get eaten by the upgrades.😢

Not sure if my save is bugged or what, but I'm getting the exact same crashing bug again even after reloading an old save. I think I'm done with this for now, I'll come back once things get ironed out.

Does the game let you know if you are missing a horse when you can upgrade to cavalry? Or can you potentially not know if there are no horses in your inventory?

Been playing it for about 7 hours and it's fantastic. However, it really just feels like a remaster of Warband. I'm not sure there's enough fresh ideas here to really call it a sequel.

Again, if you loved Warband this is just more of that. Maybe my expectations were too high, but after so many years of waiting I haven't seen anything that has blown me away.

Yeah, the upgrade will be blocked out/red and it will say something like no horses available.
Also note that it requires war-ready horses, so no mules or sumpter horses or the like. Doesn't really communicate this well ATM, but the ESC screen tips cover it IIRC.

Only barely dabbled with Warband back in the day. Just bought this and played four straight hours. It's incredible.

Played for like 10 hours today omg. Feels like a remake of Warband with a byzantine faction and better politics. I'm loving it.

Ugh, I've tried to enter a Sea Raider camp to clear it out and get stuck on the loading screen, so I have to force quit the game. This has happened twice. This at the Sea Raider camp south of Vladiv Castle and just southwest of the village of Glavstrom.

Can anyone help me with this? I'm supposed to escort this caravan but I have no idea how to make it go. I'm going to fail this one as there's not enough time left and they still haven't left, but I'd prefer not to fail future ones.

I've played like 10 matches of the multiplayer and nothing else. I never regretted my purchase. I wonder what the single player will hold for me.

Might be too late now, but after taking the quest, you have to Leave town and the caravan will appear soon after. Hope that helps.

Looks like I completely misunderstood, it said caravan, but they just gave me a guy and the horses and I didn't know. So now i have a criminal rating and really bad relations with them now lol.

I'm going in blind as well, is it easy to learn?

There's a lot of systems but I think the tutorial is pretty good and the openness of the game means you only ever really get thrown in as deep as you choose.

This coming from someone with very little prior experience with the series.

Doing the campaign, finding all the nobles to tell me about that particular event has been a bit of a slog. This game is of course about the journey not the destination, but is fiddly trying to track down all these people.

Yeah, it's really counterintuitive.

If you talk to any lord in a major faction, they'll direct you to the person to talk to in that faction. It's all the leaders, plus another couple people. Talking to the characters will reveal different perspectives of this big battle.

(To track down a character, start by clicking a highlighted part of dialog, or right-clicking on the character tab in the bottom left, where you can reach the 'heroes' part of the M&Bpedia. Their last location and recent events will help locate 'em. Though if they're imprisoned you're out of luck. Filtering heroes by Faction Leaders and Met Characters or w/e will help narrow down who you've missed.)

I've never played these games are they good single player games?
Yeah, there's an extensive singleplayer sandbox campaign.

Note that in Early Access, it's incomplete right now, with some missing features, lack of polish, and some bugs. Lots to do, but you will run into some issues.

Pretty simple. We can answer any questions you have. But the early game is not actually that complicated.

Kill bandits and looters.
Sell their drops for gold, and hold on to their food, and any items that are better then what you have equiped.
Buy soldiers and food from towns.
Buy horses from towns for each person in your army so you can run down enemies on the campaign map.
Rank up your soldiers when they are ready to get stronger.
Repeat.

This Spy Party quest must be bugged to shit. I've wandered around the town and talked to every person in existence in that town and not met anyone who's a contender in the tournament.

The multiplayer alone is leaps ahead of Chivalry or Mordhau

I never knew I could have so much fun in a game like this.

I spent a good stretch of time yesterday grinding smithing, just making a bunch of swords, melting them all down, and making them again, resting when I couldn't smith anymore.

I got it up to 40.

The skills go over 200 I believe.

If you thought making daggers in Skyrim was a tedious grind, you ain't seen nothing.

if anyone is trying to play a bandit/marauder character just a heads up, I think raiding is bugged right now. If I weaken a settlement to the point where I can raid it and the local defense rolls up to deal with it, I get stuck in a weird dialogue loop that goes as follows: parley with party leader, go to attack screen, click attack, dialogue with the town villagers (which, hilariously, is unrelated to me sacking their town—it's just the usual "hail traveler we're going to town wassup??" thing). If I choose to let the villagers go, I get stuck back in the parley with the defenders and the whole thing starts over again.

here's the weird part: choosing to attack the villagers then takes me to a fight with the other party of defenders. it'll even show the villagers' army stats in the attack screen first, then take me into a fight with the defending warband. then, if i win THAT fight, it takes me back into the default "hello there :)" dialogue with the villagers again! it's very funny but is making it difficult to play a roving not-mongolian/not-viking bandit crew right now. I've tried this on three characters and it happens every time I stay raiding a village long enough for a warband to try and parley with me.
