Ubisoft has interesting way pf thinking. They made their own service, kept it on PC only and now they are releasing games on GamePass.

Bugsnax is interesting because I feel like it was one of those bigger indie games Sony would have liked to keep off Xbox. Regardless, you should all play and enjoy the best body horror game.

What happens to the Game Pass games which leave the sub if I have them downloaded?

Oh no, the Ubisoft games on PC go through the Ubisoft Connect App. The horror. Just like the EA Play games.

Wish all these launchers went the Bethesda launcher way, and die. Just Steam or Gamepass. It's annoying to use Xbox Launcher to launch EA / Ubisoft Launcher to finally launch the game. They just make the games less attractive and add nothing but hassle.

They did keep it off Xbox (and Switch), for 18 months.

Outside of straight up publishing the game themselves there's not a great deal of sense in paying to keep something forever exclusive.

True enough. I suppose it is like cuphead where I make the association that it is an Xbox game but has been ported to every system (and ironically not on gamepass).

This is a lot less maintenance and a much cleaner setup than if the games were added to the MS store.

Account linking means you only need to maintain a system-level (backend) solution rather than repackaging and rereleasing (and updating until end of life) every single game individually.

I'm glad they're going through Ubisoft. Means they'll work on Steam Deck, assuming it's the same system as EA Play where you just need to have your EA (Ubisoft in this case obviously) account linked with your Xbox account.

Ubisoft games on PC game pass going through the Ubisoft Connect App is interesting. I think only EA games on game pass operate in the same way because of EA play.

Oh, those are some very nice additions. Wouldn't mind to go back to AC Origins for a while now on PC

Yeah, when you put it like that it makes sense.

Waiting for my Steam Deck myself but thought Gamepass was a no-go on Linux. This means there's some degree of compatibility if the games are on EA or Ubisoft apps?

I´m ashamed of my words & deeds if so.

Definitely check out Bugsnax. The controls felt a bit clunky but it's a really charming game.

Intrigued by turnip boy 🤔

Native touch enabled games on Xcloud are really cool. Do we have a list of games which support it. I only really remember Football Manager having it.

Yep. I'm fine with this approach. EA Play is pretty seamlessly integrated and is more reliable than the Xbox app. Haven't had issues with Ubisoft either in the past

Nit-picking here, but Ubisoft+ is also available on Stadia and (I think) Luna.
I know, I know, cloud gaming is super-niche right now, and 'Era generally hates it, but still, they are their own platforms that don't need a PC to access.

Doesn't really invalidate your main point though, so I'm not even sure why I bought it up.

Anyway, nit-picking done. Carry on.

How's that NFS remaster? That's the Criterion one from PS3/360? I remember enjoying that back in the day from the little I played.

They keep on acting like a title now available on cloud gaming is a full title in the release roster, reducing the number of new GP titles and I find that..skeevy, I guess? Whatever

Looking forward to Bugsnax. Curious about what the latter part, which had Nextlander quite engaged, may entail.

Yep, you can play EA Play games from Game Pass if you install the EA app. It's not the easiest thing in the world to get working, but this method worked for me and I've seen people who have managed to get some other methods working - https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/ty0px2/using_the_ea_app_the_correct_way_on_your/. It's pretty seamless once it's set up.

Basically you can login to the EA app on any PC (including the Steam Deck) with your Xbox-linked EA account and just use that without touching the Xbox app, it just knows you've got EA Play through Game Pass. Assuming they do the same system with Ubisoft then it should be the same. As far as I know the Ubisoft client installs just fine for purchased games already.

I would expect bigger things for Ubisoft games to get an announcement months early. Like origins is often $10 or less. Hope we just get Ubisoft+ soon on consoles

im thinking on playing with turn based combat on. should i do that?

It isn't bad, but the games' systems don't work as well as they do in real time. If you know you don't like RTwP then go for it but if you've never played at all then I'd at least try real time first. For my money it's the best RTwP combat ever.

If you're playing on PC I think there's a console command to flip between the two as well.
