I really like what they did with the metal Raths in this game. They look amazing, and their new enraged mode with the visible fire through their skin is the shit.

They also seem to have basically completely different movesets from each other. I remember they used to share a bunch of moves before.

Yes, no problem, the squad has still plenty of spots open. On weekdays I'll typically be online around 21:00 (Central European Time) but lately real life has been getting in the way and there's days I cannot play. Weekends should be no problem and I tend to play both in the morning and in the evening so it's easier to meet.

This reminds me: the subleader spot is currently open. If there's someone in the squad that plays frequently and has found themselves wishing they could add other Era members to the squad without having to wait for me to be online, just tell me.

I would like to join too. I am still in high rank but I will make it to the iceborne expansion eventually.

So I finally hit MR60 after starting a week ago, and I'm wondering if there is any faster way to get to 100 besides just randomly killing enemies in the Guiding Lands?

I'm guessing this is the quickest way since there are no loading screens, and none of the Event quests I did seemed to give a lot of MR exp.

the grinding lands is the fastest way to gain MR. monsters that are unique to a region, like lavasioth, also give a larger chunk of exp than something like pukei-pukei

Thanks!

I'll just have to put on some music and grind away. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something more efficient since it seems like getting to 200 is going to take a long time (that's my goal before I move onto another game)

Hell yes, gold rath/lunastra is my go to grinding set until i can get some health augments.

divine 5 and tool specialist 5 is really great, plus it looks amazing as a mixed set
Yeah, I'm looking at Luna+Goldian on HoneyHunter and I'm shocked at how many skills you can fit on there.

CB can still get Focus 3 + Artillery 3 + Capacity Boost and a decent amount of DPS skills even with God-tier charms. It's nuts.

So, I'm not the only one who has a real problem noticing the bone piles and mining outcrops in GL, right? I really wish they just put those on the map too.

They're difficult to spot in the beginning when they're tiny, but after a while you remember their spawn points and it's not so bad anymore. Plus they always spawn alongside walls and only inside the two areas of each sublocale, so you can just run around, hug the edges and watch for your scoutflies.

The bone piles are damn invisible to me.

I have just memorized spawn locations but when they sometimes don't spawn where they should I spend too much time mashing O near the walls.

The series isn't called "Monster Hunter" because we're hunting monsters, it's called "Monster Hunter" because we're monsters hunting innocent animals.

It seems there is more to Guiding Land than meets the eye. What is that ecology survey near top right screen?

guess i'll never get that tempered hazak unless i farm the region, lol. It's really hard to catch specific monsters in GL. Will be even worse when the game is older.

Yes. It's something like this:

1 player = 1x HP
2 players = 1.8x HP
3 or 4 players = 2.6x HP

Close. I believe it's 1.7 and 2.5.

And man oh man, you FEEL that 2.5 if people aren't doing their fair share. At a certain point, unless your elder Investigation sniping, going multi is just adding time to a hunt.

Uhhghhhh i can literally relate with that. There was this time when i summoned 4 people and 1 left due to dc (he suddenly left during battle, i assumed it was due to dc) and the battle literally became longer and exhausting

If I'm on my 5th KO of a monster, I'm just shaking my head. Certain weapon types just don't benefit from multi either. Lance uptimes goes to shit if there is more than 1 ranged player and it's charging around

huh I've never seen sa user using that launch/swing up move since iceborne, almost all of them strictly on sword mode.

Going multi is for adding fun to a hunt. More so with a regular group than randoms. The extra time, when present, doesn't bother me as long as I'm having fun.
5 (there were two Swax users), and the idiots put the monster to sleep WHILE I WAS MOUNTING IT.

They didn't even wait to pull out dynamite, they just started smacking it again when it fell asleep. I may have been paired with the dumbest people on the server.
Sleep is absolutely worthless with randoms. If I happen to bring a sleep weapon in a squad hunt I try to tell others in advance and even then it may still not do much if someone is locked in some long animation before they realise that the music is stopping.
It could well be that while still stupid that Switch Axe is the one with the highest raw they own at the moment and they simply don't care about the status opportunity.

Yesterday an LBG users literally spam sticky and KOed the monster while I'm mounting it lmao.

To be honest, SWAX is the only weapon I have very little experience with in MHW but in the training room the dps on the thing just swinging it around wildly seems quite strong. I don't mind the occasional friendly launch or trip but it sure gets tiring multiple times per match so I totally feel your point.

The problem is there is little to no reason to use the axe upswing attack. Especially in Iceborne, where axe overhead swing now chains directly from axe stab.

Finally got guiding land some of monster materials there. But the shop is not updated yet
The layered armors currently available with the Guiding Lands materials are at the bottom of the Low Rank/High Rank tab in the layered armor crafting menu. Make sure you aren't either in the Master Rank tab or the top of the Low Rank/High Rank tab.
As soon as you have gathered some materials in the Guiding Lands (this includes collecting bones and mining), at least a few should appear (some might be dependent on Guiding Lands monster materials).

Finally got off my ass to get the Guild Palace arms. Arena still sucks solo.

But now I can do this!
NZg3DhW.jpg

And this is without and "God Decos" other than the Expert 4 that you get as part of the story or anything on the mantles. The amount of skills you can fit on sets would make Drachen Armor jealous. That's 100% affinity + CB3 + Offensive Guard 3 + Razor Sharp + the standard impact phial CB skills (Focus, Cap Boost, Guard, Artillery) and it gets to run DB5 and HB2!

This game is so good!

There is no assigned quest for Zinogre.

You can however fill the Fanged Wyvern research you get when visiting Guiding Lands for the first time by fighting other fanged wyvern in GL. Once it filled up, it should give you lure for Zinogre.

Or you can respond SOS for any Zinogre quest,

It is also a common (or maybe uncommon? Not sure...) spawn in the level 2 Forest area. So you could just expedition hop to get it to spawn, hunt and capture it and fight it in the arena. At that point you are also able to get investigations even from other Forest area monsters.

This is definitely the biggest balls I've had playing this game

lol

I did something like this during my first fight with MR Teostra.

It was about to Supernova so I went and attempted a Mount and it worked! (Otherwise, I would've been dead.)

I hear ya. Sleep Weapons seem to have the same issue. Either they have meh Sharpness or low Attack.
