Great - whatever convinces more people to purchase the game.

It's off for me as well. It's easily 90+. It's cool that not everyone loves the game like some do, so I'm just kidding around, but it depends on what you're looking for in games. You liked Guacamelee more; I thought that was a 7 game at best, but that game was mostly linear and had almost no adventure and puzzle elements and focused more on platform challenges whereas Monster Boy was more about puzzle solving and exploration (especially as you get further in the game). One isn't necessarily better than the other, it's just what you value more. Haven't played Hollow Knight yet, but I just pre-ordered the physical version so we'll see.Don't want to be a Debbie downer but... I'll just say that the game's 87 aggregate score is off for me.
Thank you very much for the kind comments, Demo is up in Japan already - Happy Gaming! ^_^
MonsterBoy was, to be honest, the game I enjoyed most in 2018... I recommend anyone try it out.
Desperately want a Monster Boy 2!
love this game. platinumed it on ps4. im interested in this series and wonder boy in general. what are the best ones? i never played the others on older consoles.
These days, the Dissidia 012 demo usually costs more than the actual game itself!

Monster Boy 2: Wonder boy VII: Monster World VI: Monster Land 2: The Dragon's Lair
Aaaand yet another example of why every game should have a demo. The art-style of this game always looked "cheap" to me in gameplay videos that I easily overlooked it last year. But man does it look great on the Switch in handheld mode. And being able to actually play the game has me feeling a grand adventure awaits
Played for 10 mins and deleted immediately....and bought it on the eshop.
Thank god for the demo in videos the game looked "cheap" to me. Holy fuck was i wrong, this game is gorgeous and fun.
How replayable is it, does it have new game+?
No new game plus, but it's a metroidvania, so it's worth exploring the entire map and finding all the hidden items and armor and stuff. Every piece of armor and equipment has special powers, and finding a full matching outfit will unlock even more special powers. So while it lacks new game +, it's more like Zelda: MM in that there are lots and lots of optional equipment to find and unlock that gives you lots of powers.
You can also upgrade all the equipment in the game, giving them even newer powers.

It is, but it's mostly color swaps of the same design.
It's a meaty game for it's type, about the length of a Zelda game. 10-12 hours or so.
I'd so get this game if it had an actual physical European release! I'm holding out but I doubt it's going to happen.
