I absolutely love almost everything about Stardust Memory (the love triangle plot felt forced but then again what Gundam doesn't have something like that!?) and one of my all-time favorite scenes is Cima's death.

When my boy Uraki goes in he is a goddamn beast.
He doesn't even need to pull the trigger at the end, she's already done!

That Zeta opening though

Neil I like your songs and all but can you and/or your buddies not be such jerks and let us lowly western fans hear it for a change?

One of the strongest parts of the IP for years has been the manga side of things.

The Wing retelling, Glory of the Losers, is my personal favorite. Fixes a lot of weird plot points and it even introduces some new designs. I love tank tread Heavyarms so much. Really want to see that suit in EXVS2 or a future game.

0083 Rebellion does something similar for Stardust Memory. It sticks a lot closer to the original 0083 plot though.

Some of the MSV manga series also deliver, especially on the mecha fanservice side of things.

The Origin manga is also absolutely excellent.

I've been a Gundam fan since Wing first debuted on Toonami. Some of my favorite memories include:

1. Zechs taking off his mask and becoming Milliardo Peacecraft (before the heel turn in space)
2. Kamille's parents being in that damn capsule. Like goodness, Titans.
3. All the newtype moments between Char and Amuro in the original and CCA
4. Char and Amuro meeting again in Zeta. This was like Hulk Hogan-Randy Savage MEGA POWERS ish. So good.
5. Seeing Four and Kamille develop their relationship and having Four die in front of him, Amuro, and Char. Amuro and Char have to relive memories because of this. I carried that weight.
6. Ramba Ral "This is no Zaku boy!"
7. Char turning on Garma Zabi and luring him in that trap. Goodness, what a power move.
8. The whole dang Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. My heart was shredded into pieces afterwards. Truly a great show.
9. Seeing the GP02A for the first time. That thing was a beast!
10. Seing Shinn beat Kira in that arctic area or whatever in SEED Destiny. It felt nice. I hated how the show changed with those two.

There's plenty more but these ones stick out to me.

08th team and 0079 are my favorites. but I think some of my favorite suit designs come from Zeta/ZZ

My favorite animated series of all time. I am writing a celebration article for the 40th anniversary of 0079 in April for a big publication so I look forward to you guys reading it.

The movie is a mess and Crossbone does little to fix it but I will always love the desing on it. Epecialy the main F91 Gundam
latest

It's just so simple and cool. The Destiny is kind of in the same boat in that the series is no great to me but I love the suit.

I enjoy Gundam and am making my way through the UC stuff, but from what I've seen so far 0080: War in the Pocket is the best Gundam has ever been, and it's not even close. That ending was something truly special.

Wow, Gundam is 40 already? That means best series is turning 20.

Gonna give Turn A a rewatch this year.

First got on the train with Gundam Seed - first ep I watched was the last one lol. Even though I later found out how dumb the series is I still have fond memories of seeing Kira and Rau wrecking each other piece by piece.

I've been through about half of all the series (mostly stuff at the beginning and post-2000), the best one is definitely 0080, as others have said. Also had a blast with the first Build Fighters with all the callbacks and, well, cause it's awesome.

Favorite moment is Lady Une throwing a dude out of the back of a cargo plane without a parachute, and then pulling out a handgun and shooting him in the head as he plummets towards the ground, because hey, can't leave anything to chance, right?

I don't really dislike any Gundam show I've watched, except Seed. I plan on rewatching it soon though to see if my opinion of it can change. I love Wing, G Gundam, Zeta Gundam (well, at least the first 40 episodes anyway; when everything went out of print a few years ago the fifth volume on DVD was going for absurd amounts of money, so I've never finished it), and absolutely love 08th MS Team.

I started watching 00 at work last night and like it well-enough; my coworker and I made it to episode 10 and will resume watching tonight.

I just started playing Gundam Breaker 3 (imported an English-language copy of the Break Edition from Malaysia) last Friday too and am having a blast with it. I guess I saw a rumor on the PS4 subreddit last week that there is some Gundam game news coming out soon? I'm really hoping it is a new Dynasty Warriors Gundam (I know deep down it won't be) because I've sank hundreds and hundreds of hours into that series.

Favorite Gundam designs? Epyon at the top of my list, Gundam Rose, the Dom, Rick Dias, Quebley, Gelgoog, and then the Deep Striker from Gundam Sentinel.

Gundam 00 is actually my favorite, but I have a lot of love for Universal Century too. I don't have much time to post favorite moments right now but I'll read through this thread/try to remember to add some stuff later.

The Quality of this Video is terrible, but the Freedom Gundam's first entrance in Gundam Seed is one of the most hypest moments in Gundam for me.

A lot of the scenes I would have mentioned have been brought up already so I'llgo with something more recent. The 2nd fight in episode 24 of Build Fighters TRY is up there for me. Kicking it off with them interrupting the announcement was a great bit.

I get that it's a meme at this point, but this scene from Zeta is actually really powerful and is a huge catalyst for the rest of Amuro's story arc.

Other notable moments:
- Kshatriya. All of it.
- Everything leading up to the ending of IBO. It's a very solid series with exception to the ending.
- Gundam build fighters is a real fun watch and embodies the spirit of the series so well.

Ordered, but in no particular order:

1. Any and everything Touhou Fuhai did in G Gundam.
2. Domon Kashu getting God Gundam for the first time, carrying Shining Gundam in his arms, then BURYING Master Asia in the middle of him shittalking in G Gundam.
3. Heero kicking Zechs' ass while they were both at their absolute best (Wing Zero Custom vs Epyon).
4. GP-02 (Physalis) being a beautiful piece of machinery anytime it was on screen in Stardust Memory.
5. Dendrobium Stamen (It's just a hulk) scene and mobile suit free floating in space scene in Stardust Memory.
6. Wufei waiting in space to drag Heero's ass in his gorgeous Nataku from Endless Waltz.
7. Zechs' attack and destruction of MOIII with Tallgeese III in Endless Waltz.
8. Gouf Custom FUCKING SHIT UP in 08th MS Team.

It's been a while since I watched Zeta so my memory is hazy, but I wasn't aware Katz was disliked that much lol

If anything, he kind of felt like white noise to me for the most part, but again, it's been a while.

Katz is an annoying brat who overstimates himself way too much, whines all the time without the charm of Amuro or Kamille, and overall is just a waste of time since I can't think of any moment that I said "wow, is so great that Katz was there to save the day" unlike in Mobile Suit where he was actually adorable and actually helped the crew

Only thing going for Katz is that he's not Hathaway Noa.

Loved when 0079 and 08 MS-Team were on concurrently with Toonami. Gundam Wing introduced me to the things but 0079 and 08 MS-Team solidified my love for mobile suits. I want to say that the Gouf premiered on both shows on the same day and I was so hyped for it. But my memory could be wrong on that.
0080 War in the Pocket and 0083 Stardust Memory were absolutely fantastic and just rocked my world.

Some of my favorite highlights:

No Zaku Boy:

Pretty much any and every battle from 0083:

Kampfer's run in War in the Pocket:

The finale Zaku battle from War in the Pocket:

And of course the Gouf Custom's battle from 08 MS-Team. Which is probably my favorite overall moment. But that has already been mentioned.

I've never actually seen Turn-A-Gundam, but I also do have a sweetspot for its intro for some reason even if I have no idea what's going on.

Well, more controversially, its second intro rather than its first.

OVA wise it's the fourth ep, nothing but mecha porn.
I just remember seeing that episode and being like, "yes, this is exactly what I signed up for when I started watching this OVA."

I really need to rewatch 8th MS team. Of the UC stuff I've seen, it's the show I've remembered the least since I saw it back in my mid-teens but it feels like definitely something I'd appreciate even more now.

I went back and rewatched it and found some character building stuff I had issue with in terms of how shoe horned they felt. Ideas they had no room to do earlier just kinda presented out of nowhere to build up something that was never hinted at before certain moments.

Otherwise 08th MS Team is still really fantastic and a must see for any Gundam fan. Worth revisiting, but don't go in with rose colored glasses.

I legit cried at the end of War in the pocket. Rewatching the ending just now made remember how sad it is

I have watched all off Gundam shows, OVAs, onas and all of the animated works and the are so many moments that I could choose that the list would be huge, anyway UC series reign supreme. The lowest point in the franchise for me are Try and Build Divers and there also enjoyable aspect in those.

The moment isn't particularly special without context, but I enjoyed this scene in conjunction with the following episodes with Kamille as it served as a great conclusion to his role in Gundam. And despite an extremely bad start to ZZ Gundam (that put me off the series for far too long), his re-introduction served as part of the denouement of one of the best set of Gundam episodes (Africa+Dublin) I've seen.

The entirety of Turn A Gundam is also great and its still probably the peak of Gundam for me. There are too many great moments to list but the ending of episode with Loran yelling at the moon stands out.

00 Gundam launch episode. When kid Setsuna gazed upon 0 gundam. Been a long time fan but that moment made me love the series truly.

There are way too many moments to post. Highlights would be the 78's last shooting on the Zeong head, 00 getting Raiser pack and destroying the opposition and many many more that it would take a couple posts lol.

Some people have already mentioned some of my favorite scenes too.

Barbatos Lupus Rex isn't one of my favorite Gundam ever.

Shino's death stood out to me because he fucking missed. Sure it was Julietta's fault but still. I could feel the frustration.

Also, something about Uso and Katejina's final confrontation was just so fucking cool to me.
