The Mets are doing WAYYY too much for Realmuto. He's good but there's other quality catchers on the market for cheaper.
Jim Buchanan coming back whew
Im expecting the A's stadium plans to crash and burn as well.Rays stadium deal in Ybor City is dead. Stuck in the Trop until 2027. https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2018/12/1...ead-team-stuck-in-tropicana-field-until-2027/

That's like eight years from now and nobody else is building a stadium in reality. Portland has a total fantasy about it but someone has to come up with a BILLION DOLLARS at some point. And with that my support of the Rays is done. No point in supporting a team that's going to move.

I did that with the Chargers starting in like 2010 and it worked out fine. It's basically borrowed time. I can't commit to the franchise unless I know that the franchise is committed to my area.
Make the call Friedman!!Honestly hoping the Reds can get Wood and Puig. It would help a good amount.
I WANT PUIG REDS.
For scooter and Iglesias would be fine.
If I had to guess, they think they can extend Realmuto and consider it a smarter investment than Thor.Just get Grandal. Jesus...why would we send Thor to the Yankees?

It feels like they don't think they can resign Thor. Or don't want to.Thor is entering his age 26 season, has a career 13 WAR and hasn't even truly learned how to pitch yet. I see what you're saying but I don't think it's a smart move by the Mets unless they think his arm is going to fall off.
Happ isn't a back end starter. He's a mid rotation guy. A rotation of Severino, Paxton, Tanaka, Happ, CC is pretty good. This deal does not work for me at all. If they hadn't signed CC, it'd be another story. The lineup is so stacked that they'd make the playoffs with 5 A.J. Burnett's. Another back end starter ain't gonna take them deeper in the playoffs.
You're right, I'm just upset we could stack up our rotation even more. A full season of Happ should be equivalent to what Monty could do. It is considerably better removing Gray and adding Paxton.Happ isn't a back end starter. He's a mid rotation guy. A rotation of Severino, Paxton, Tanaka, Happ, CC is pretty good.
Signing Happ doesn't necessarily take the Yankees completely out of the trade market for another starter. They already had a full 5 man rotation set before the Gerrit Cole trade talks last year.
Several Pittsburgh reporters are saying that Nutting wants the payroll south of $75 million. That'll be the third straight year of payroll reductions.
