Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday encouraged people living in areas with coronavirus outbreaks to wear a mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

At a press conference alongside Texas and Trump administration officials at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Pence plainly called on Americans to "wear a mask, wherever it's indicated."

"We encourage everyone to wear a mask in the affected areas," Pence said. "Where you can't maintain social distancing, wearing a mask is just a good idea, especially young people," he added.

Change in trump administration strategy or did he finally realize they can't win this battle so he needs to pivot now for his 2024 run?

Hopefully this is the first sign of cracks between Trump and Pence. At some point he's going to notice the ship sinking and grab a life preserver.

- Trump Administration (but not yet Trump himself), fucking JUNE 28 2020, half of a fucking year into the pandemic.

They moved their fucking convention because they were told to wear masks. What a shitstain of an administration that has led to this pandemic being at least 10 times worse than it would've been under any other competent leadership.

I can't believe these fuckers have made wearing a mask political. Trump could be in the lead in the polls if he did something as simple as wearing a mask and told others to. You know...show others that he cared about them.

Trump is using Pence as a political shield and trial balloon. Any angry freedom-loving mask denialists can go after Pence for now, since he has enough distance politically—he's just an empty suit really.

But if his base starts to warm up to the idea after all, Trump can claim it was his own leadership all along.

Or that's all bullshit and it's just a big clusterfuck with no strategy.

It's because COVID is really starting to impact red states and consequently Trump's base. Pence don't give a fuck about human lives.
