I'm playing on 1080p medium settings, installed on an HDD. My laptop is 4 years old. (1060, 12gb ram, 2.5ghz cpu)
It runs at around 30-60fps, depending on streaming / ground distance.

Definitely stutters here and there, but totally playable. So cool!

6700K
2070 Super
32GB RAM
Intel 660p NVMe

Usually ~45fps at 1080p on High settings. Going through a dense city like NYC my framerate goes down to ~15-20 as it struggles to stream in data. Game feels pretty good at 45fps though. Perfectly playable considering the genre. I should be able to crank render scale to 150% easily since my GPU usage is hovering around ~50%. Not quite sure where the bottleneck is, actually, since neither my GPU or CPU are under full load.

The game certainly loves RAM, though. Uses around 15-20GB on my setup.

The game's 30fps lock is actually really nice. Almost no framepacing issues that usually happen on 30fps locks.

Same here- rtx 2080- neither gpu or cpu at full load, but drops to around 30 in cities at 1440p high settings. May just lock at 30fps.

Honestly that sounds like bad optimization when your gpu/cpu aren't maxed out and you're still experiencing framerate fluctuations.

Kinda seems the "streaming" is the issue...

I'd get this if this wasn't $100 and missing half of Sydney :(
I mean...that isn't bad? I kid, Sydney is alright some of the time.

With regards to installing the main bulk of the game it states an install path of C: yet I had it pointed to a different drive through Game Pass. Will it actually install on my original chosen drive or will it actually use my C drive to download and install? Its a tad confusing because the installer states a total free space that is not at all appropriate to C drive.

Honestly, framerate fluctuations are totally more fine in FS2020 than most games. It's a slow game. I'm not even using a framerate counter. I know I'm getting dips when at an airport or going over a city but I'm so much less bothered than I normally would be.

Why would you do that? Invest $1000 on a GPU but keep a 7 year old cpu in your machine.

that's crazy!
My computer isn't just for gaming. I've got a lot of CUDA tasks that I need to do that don't really use my CPU all that much. DaVinci Resolve and 4k/8k media will take as many CUDA cores and VRAM as you can throw at it.

Been planning an upgrade for the rest of my machine once the final Intel macintoshes roll off the line (my build is a hackintosh), but that day keeps getting kicked further and further into the future.

Ok, my RX 580 is barely over the minimum req, but my Intel W3565 is barely under.

I might buy that X5690 upgrade, after all. AT least I'd get 6 cores.

I have an RTX 2080ti.

Buuuuut an i7-4790k.

I have no idea what to expect performance-wise. lmao.
I played it on a 4770/2070 Super 1440p, high settings, and it plays just fine. I just put a 4790K in it, but it'll take a little bit to get the game installed back on that rig. I'll test it out in a little while.

Ah! Good to know. That's a close enough lopsided match to assume that my lopsided machine will do just fine then.

I have an i5-7400, 24 Gigs of RAM and a RX Vega 64. The game is unplayable for me, even if i drop down to low-end and 1080p. not even reaching 30fps and constant freezing and stutter every 5 seconds. really bummed out right now.

I wasn't expecting much but it was way worse than I hoped it would be. i5-4690k /8GB/1070/SSD and for the first half minute into training it was a complete slide show for like 2-5fps max. No way that's playable for me and that was on the determined medium settings. Put me off so much that I didn't even want to look at dropping it below that, I can't imagine it being that much better. Again, my specs are pretty crap but was hoping for maybe 20's at 1080p... yeah no way. :(

But now that I've seen their 'optimum' settings, yeah I get it...

Try turning off the air traffic. I saw that cleared up stuttering on someone's video.

It's installing now. Gotta run and pick up my wife from work. I'll be back in a couple hours. Download should be done by then. I'll test it out on three monitors; 1080p, 1440p, 2160p.

Changed my region to NZ to set this downloading overnight. I wonder how my Surface Book 3 with 1660TI will handle it.

Any recommendations for laptop users?

I just did but this still isn't working for me. I changed it in the Windows time and date settings, is there somewhere else I need to change the time for it to work?

It's not the time or time-zone one you need to change it's the region. If you go to settings in windows 10, you'll see region is the second tab on the left.

need to install fraps or similar, but it seems pretty smooth other than when it pauses completely for about 10 seconds in mid-flight. Even with stormy weather.

This is just taking the default preset it suggests which for me was 'high end' - 3440x1440, 6700k, GTX1080, 16GB ram, Nvme SSD, 350mb internet (used about 1.5GB in 3 hours after initial setup)

Better than I'd expected but Id' like to know what is causing those temporary lockups

My guess is RAM. You might need to lower something to accommodate 16GB. Just a hunch.

9900K @ 5.0GHz
2080Ti
32GB 3600 RAM
SSD(s)
ASUS PG27UQ (4k+HDR+144hz)

I fall under "ideal" specs. But me being at 4k i'm really curious how this will run. This seems like the perfect game for a Ultrawide too, but i'll have to settle for 4k. Really looking forward to this and seeing how much it bodies my 2080ti @ 4k lol.

Playing on 3440x1440 with the following:

i7 9700K
GTX 2080 TI Founder's Edition
16GB RAM
Samsung EVO M2 SSD

Runs mostly around 60 (on High-Spec) but has frequent stutters due to assets streaming in I presume and some drops here and there. Haven't tried an insanely populated city like NYC yet (Seattle ran and looked great). CPU usage seem to be far more saturated than GPU.

Resolutions and presets isn't making a ton of framerate improvements for me. They all kinda around the same ballpark performance (Except for Ultra).

Yep, with a high end GPU, you'll only get GPU bottlenecked at Ultra settings. Not sure if the bottleneck is at the CPU or elsewhere. Waiting for more benchmarks to come in.

I'm playing @ 1080p with these specs:

3800X @ 4.2ghz
RTX 2070
32GB RAM
Installed on a 1tb 870 EVO

Sitting in KMIA I'm barely sitting at 30 FPS regardless of performance setting I enable, I enabled the dev console so I can get the in-engine FPS Counter and It's saying I'm limited by MainThread, so I'm guessing the game is stalling on Core 0 for me.

EDIT: There's definitely something going on here because I'm seeing people with GTX 970s managing to run the game at 1080p/30fps on medium just like I can

Happy to report my modest 2015 rig of an i5, 8gb ram, gtx970 is performing shockingly nicely at 1080p on medium (as in 30fps when I was expecting 5)

Give this thing a shot even without a super PC.

Getting 25-35fps at 1080p high settings, awful.

After some of this results I'm pretty sure that I need to wait for my new rig late next year to try this.. my old i7 and a GTX 1080 won't be enough. ( 30 fps is not an opcion for me on PC.. I hate how that looks even in a slow game like this one )

It's playing decent at 1080p, 1440p, high settings. I'll have some better tests coming on Wednesday when my new ssd comes in. This is on a 250GB ssd, and there's not much room for a rolling cache, so streaming this data isn't doing me any favors lol.

I5 8600k and 2080ti getting hard denied ultra settings even at 1080p.

I need to know the least noticable most effective settings to adjust. I'm in it for the beauty so I hate to turn stuff down!

Haven't been able to get past the loading screen- it says it's checking for updates and then seems to get stuck at trying to download anything (Task Manager says my download speed is basically 0) so my screen just has the loading page with a blue progress bar stuck around 1/5th of the way. Must be because of everyone else trying to download *shakes fist angrily at every one else*

Which is a shame as the initial 1gb download from the windows store was super fast.
