The Space
Kept you waiting huh? (via Mashable)

The soundtrack splits up across two LPs, with a limited run of 1,000 available exclusively at the show for $35. That version, the "Gray Fox Edition," is housed inside a gatefold jacket with a close-up of Gray Fox's iconic helmet embossed on the cover. The vinyl artwork was created by Randy Ortiz.

There's a standard edition of the vinyl soundtrack release coming to Mondo's website as well as record stores later in the summer. That version will feature Solid Snake on the cover.

Also at Comic-Con...

The 18x24 poster, cast primarily in red, white, and gray hues, riffs on Metal Gear Solid's final showdown between Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. The limited run of 225 printings will only be available at Mondo's booth at the show (until it's sold out), for $50.

EDIT FOR US, NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS:

Mondo will start selling the variant of the soundtrack starting Wednesday 19 August 2019:

METAL GEAR SOLID - Original Video Game Soundtrack 2XLP. Music by Konami Digital Entertainment. Pressed on 2X 180 Gram Green Smoke colored vinyl. Also available in 2X 180 Gram Black vinyl. Expected to Ship in September 2019. Ships Worldwide. $35

Mondo is proud to present the premiere vinyl pressing of the soundtrack to Konami's 1998 espionage masterpiece: METAL GEAR SOLID. Pressed on 2X 180 Gram vinyl, and featuring the original song "The Best Is Yet To Come" by Rika Muranaka, and original artwork by Randy Ortiz.

For the poor citizens of Europe and the UK like me, the vinyl should be available in stores later in the year. Juno records, Norman Records, Amazon, and other retailers usually receive some copies from Mondo, so if you want to save some money from shipping from Trumpland, just wait a little more.

the fact that I live right by the mondo gallery in Austin but can't buy this there pains me.

Is there a legal way to own all the MGS soundtracks without paying an crazy amount of money?

I want that vinyl so bad.

Edit:
There's a standard edition of the vinyl soundtrack release coming to Mondo's website as well as record stores later in the summer. That version will feature Solid Snake on the cover; you can see it in the image up top, the green-hued art situated between the two discs.

Missed that on my first read through, I can live with the Snake version..just.

Mondo has always been a shit show of a line for me at SDCC. They always cap the line nearly instantly since I think exhibitors line up before the The doors open for everyone else. 😩

I don't like Mondo's limited run bullshit. As someone who's not based in the US it's damn neat impossible to get these posters.
The ones that end up on the website don't ship internationally and this SDCC stuff will just end up on eBay for insane amounts of money.

How did they get the main theme? I thought they had legal issues there.

I'd like that poster more without Snake, Liquid, and Ninja on it. It would compliment my other MGS poster nicely.

That poster is rad, love the red motif. Would totally buy it if I could, but I'm just a non-SDCC-going scrub

I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I even had a chance. IMO the moment I hear Mondo I tune out. No chance of getting this if I have literally anything else to do the moment they go on sale.

Wish I could get the poster tho

Once you get to the Psycho Mantis theme, he starts to give you a rundown of all the old vinyl that you own.

Game exclusivity is not such a problem compared to product exclusivity to a country or city.

I will miss that Gray Fox edition :(

Bumping this to notify you guys that the standard release will be up soon. This upcoming Wednesday at noon. It shouldn't sell out.

Also that mondo poster drop looked pretty sweet. Shame it wasn't an open edition.

100% buying this but bummed out that the grey fox cover is going to be unobtainable to me. Regardless, will be nice to have and display/listen with the rest of my vinyl. Hopefully one day the Revengeance soundtrack gets a repressing as I missed out on snagging a copy of that.

Well, who says it has the main theme?

The "main theme" only appears over the credits on your second run. It only really became a thing with MGS2.

More than the second run credits, I would say the theme really first came into prominence from the trailers:

Man, Kojima always could cut a mean trailer.
