It's possible that FFVIIR still has Sony console exclusivity for another year or so.

- Nintendo Co Ltd has shipped 1 million Switch consoles in China since it launched the device in the world's largest video games market at the end of 2019, its Chinese partner Tencent Holdings Ltd said on Monday.

So in 2020 the Switch sold in China almost the same amount of legal consoles projected to be sold in 2024 ? Did it over perform?
I really wonder where the Nintendo and Tencent partnership goes next. Games together?

Maybe the deal?

Let's wait and see.

Anyways SE Twitter started teasing a bit

Yeah, hadn't considered that Xbox could be excluded for another year(or more) considering FFXVI and Athia.

Do we think a port would do good for ps5? PC I get though, maybe ps5 sku can reach 3mil. PS4 is above 5mil now

It will do very good probably, releasing this early in the system's life-cycle, and benefiting from sales seasons etc.
+
Maybe more people will be encouraged to pick it up with time if the rest of parts were received well and more people got interested.

I think the project (including PS4 version) will pass 10m mark in the future.

It won't sell that much if it is a free upgrade for owners of the PS4 version. Probably 1m+ thanks to a longer tail but not like a new game.

Looking at hardware shipments it's funny cuz DS best quarters were Q1 (FY), so NSW should pull over 2.5mil right? Hopefully it'll placed third and next Q3 hit a little higher.

And WTF at software, it's gonna hit 2nd??? Without a big game??? Omg

Majority of those who wanted to buy FFVIIR have already done it on PS4. PS5 and PC will worth the investment but won't bring any crazy numbers.

Is this only physical software?
If so, could Switch 2020 be near 20mil software with digital?

So potentially two years of PS4/PS5 console exclusivity for FF7R? Yeesh. I imagine it could launch straight into Game Pass after that since the sales potential for the eventual Xbox versions will be terrible.
That one will be huge in China.
It is very hard to break into the MOBA market. I don't think TPC/Tencent will be able to pull it off. The question is how can Pokemon Unite pull users away from League, Arena of Valor, etc. It will be directly competing with the launch of Wild Rift as well. Having Pikachu in it alone won't be enough as we see from countless TPC failures on mobile and other platforms

Do you know how many party games there are on Switch, at retail and eShop? If you don't release an interesting product not many will care, there isn't instant success for everything. Despite not having crazy development budget Konami put real effort begind Momotaro push from its announcement to its advertising. There was a Momotaro clone from its creator that flew under radar.
Ironically that clone got a English release, game grumps even played it which probably put alot of eyes on it

And Kinect Adventures! was the best selling Xbox 360 game (and the best selling Xbox first party game ever), sold over 25 million copies as it was bundled with Kinect, it's so weird seeing people call the 360 Kinect a flop just because the Xbox One one was. The 360 Kinect was very successful.

Anyway, going back to Rare, people seem to forget that Nintendo dropped Rare and had no problems with Microsoft acquiring them because their games had flopped, you can take a look at Crash 4's sales to see how a new Banjo would perform in today's market. Actually, I think that if a new Banjo comes out it'll be because of the flexibility Game Pass gives to studios more than anything. I really doubt Nintendo would be interested in acquiring Rare's IPs, but I do think that Microsoft would be willing to release a new Banjo game on Switch if they ever make one.

Obviously, though, Viva Piñata 3 should be a higher priority.
I find it amusing how your judging how banjo would sell off crash 4 when crash 4 hasent even touched the platform where the audience would actually buy it at
