Do we think any Switch games will re-enter the top 30 next week? 1-2-Switch? Yoshi? Arms? Mario Tennis Aces?

Looking at Dengeki top 50, Yoshi's Crafted World and Bomberman might be good candidates.
1-2 Switch and and Mario Tennis might happen but I wouldn't bet on Arms

Speaking of Dengeki only one comeback in the top 50, I'm not gonna bother to write it with the proper format :p

Will the Lite box being much smaller than the OG box changes things for retailers?

I'm quite curious about how dimensions influence logistics.

Probably more than most of us like to consider. I imagine in the case of shortages, sometimes a % of the blame could be assigned to the fact that retailers can only order so many units due to storage space concerns.

I was also thinking about shipments.

A container full of Lite will contain a lot more units than a container full of OG.

18./18. [NSW] New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe <New Super Mario Bros. U \ New Super Luigi U> <ACT> (Nintendo) {2019.01.11} (¥5.980) - 2.875 / 682.163 <80-100%> (-7%)

Could be interesting to see if NSMBU DX could break 700K retail before 2020.

It is a guarentee imo.

Kirby was selling around the same amount last year during Week 37 and ended selling 68k copies more before the end of the year. Since hardware sales will be bigger this year, You can expect that milestone to be crushed.

Obviously massively, everything has to be stored somewhere and storage costs money both from opportunity cost and any associated storage.

All very important for any retailer from shipping perspective , any warehouse used and on site.

DxM sold in the neighborhood of Astral Chain, but it feels like everyone is down on DxM's performance and was celebrating AC. What gives? Are people looking for a reason to bash Daemon?

AC has vouchers so digital share should be quite high. DxM does not have vouchers so digital share is likely not particularly high.

What people said + the fact that Japan is expected to be DxM strongest market whereas it is not the case for AC.

Somewhere. I think.
Problem with Daemon x Machina isn't so much W1 sales, it's that sales are going to be extremely frontloaded. And as Chris said, no eShop sales to compensate due to lack of voucher (even if it tops eShop sales during launch week).

Next week marks the end of first half of fiscal year and the last one before VAT increases from 8 to 10% and there is a big amount of notable releases.

Switch Publisher Rankings: Famitsu Week 37, 2019
uGyOkRI.jpg

*Digital sales not included.

Fun Fact: Amnesia for the Switch is the second lowest physical launch for any Switch title in the Famitsu Top 30. Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary holds the title at 1,351.

Fun Fact #2: Switch finally has 13 (THIRTEEN) publishers with over 100k in sales. It might be a while until we get a 14th.

Pretty crazy how Japan essentially just has 2 relevant consoles on the market (1 home console and 1 handheld/home console hybrid). In the heyday of consoles there were up to 5 relevant consoles at a time (3 home + 2 handheld)

I think you have Take-Two at the wrong spot in your rankings. Thanks for the charts as always! I'm wondering how much higher Marvelous will get thanks to DxM and more importantly Harvest Moon & Rune Factory 5.

Hmm... looks like Media Create is the only one with Daemon x Machina ahead of Borderlands 3. Guess that Amazon edition mpl90 mentioned helped or something? If only MC at least provided SOME data...

Do we think any Switch games will re-enter the top 30 next week? 1-2-Switch? Yoshi? Arms? Mario Tennis Aces?

I wouldn't have high expectations regarding comebacks. There are a considerable amount of new releases this week that might avoid older games to re-enter the charts. Between those and the usual evergreens, it might be difficult for old games to have enough copies to chart.
Dengeki Top 50 will be much better for that.
