Square Enix was too ashamed of Left Alive's numbers and pressured them into this I'm 105% sure, smh

I doubt they could pressure Kadokawa considering they're bigger than any publisher/hardware maker in this case.

Still not sure where this comes from. Kadokawa is a fraction of the size of the major players. By market valuation, as of today, approximately:

Kadokawa Dwango - $750m ($0.75B)

Sony - $60B
Nintendo - $40B

Square Enix - $3.8B
Bandai Namco - $9.6B
Sega Sammy - $3.0B
Capcom - $2.8B

Really ? I keep hearing about how huge Kadokawa is though.

This is funny when we have a thread with a vague quote "DMC sales are not low". Companies are so secretive in this industry to just pretend they're never having any problem.

This is so stupid.

In context of that thread, Capcom is actually one of the openest companies out there about their sales:

http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/salesdata.html
http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/lease.html

More companies should be like Capcom in that regard.

Truly a shame and the end of an era. I looked forward to seeing BOTW climb the mountain every week. We can rely on Famitsu, but...

Much of this isn't all that different from what you'll get out of Nintendo. And we also have issues of Capcom recently merging their new SKU's with catalog titles when they used to remain separate.

Mock me if you want but this actually made my depression worse. Media create threads are like a mid week boost to keep me going.

Someone please don't tell Square Enix about the British numbers.

The problem is the British sales numbers are so different from the things happen in the rest of the world (and the market is relatively small). These numbers are just useless in a grander scale to see if a game/console is successful worldwide.

Can't wait for the future of sales era arguing over COMG preorder points

At least for now we still have Famitsu and dengeki, but I'm afraid what happened to MC should happen elsewhere.

This is quite sad, following the japanese sales thread every week was always fun.

What's the point of this if Famitsu and Dengeki will still provide sales data for free? Why would anyone pay for the data from MC when there are others providing it for free?
