Max mentioned (on stream I believe) that he didn't want it to only be the old recognizable names you used to see at EVOs of the past. He mostly wanted to showcase the players who picked up the game recently, worked to keep it alive all these years and never stopped playing. "The fresh blood," pretty much.

Max mentioned that Marvel & Capcom both signed off on the tournament (but they aren't official sponsors), but banned any kind of mods being shown. That aside, they were cool with it.

As for the tournament itself, outside of no mods, the darker stages will be banned.

Interesting! Glad to hear Mahvel and Capcom are cool with this tournament.
