Has anyone been able to get this to work with steam link using a razer kishi? I tried it on iOS but it won't accept any controller input.

Turns out SK or at least the settings I was using were fucking with mouse controls.

On a similar note, I made the changes to the .ini to try and disable the (negative) acceleration of the mouse but it still feels off. It's not RE3R bad but still feels off.

ME1 is running great for me. On a 9900KS/3090 I'm getting a locked 4K/120 everywhere, except a few dips in the Citadel. Driving around different planets in the Mako has been fine so far too. My GPU usage is between 30-60% though, so once that's fixed I'm sure it will help with any dips.

The only issue I've had is the surround sound. Mine just isn't working at all. I've tried 5.1, 7.1, Atmos, but it all comes out in stereo even though the receiver says it's getting a multichannel signal. I ended up just outputting in stereo instead.

There is a fix here in the thread for the surround sound issue. I'm also running through an Atmos receiver and the fix worked for me.

Why is the UI sooo much worse with a controller for me1 vs m+k?

like you can't even see the cooldowns without bringing up the menu. Wild... It's like 2 different games.

Probably because they tried to hybridize the original custom PC UI (which had more features than consoles) for this edition and did a poor job of it?

I'm sure the tables will turn once you get to the sequels since those have the existing console-centric UI.

Are you sure? I thought they ported all the QoL features over to the console UI.

The original UI was a lot more limited.

So you don't see a massive GPU usage with the game on these missions? I cap it at 60, framerate inconsistency is not the issue (well, here at least) - it's the actual load on the GPU. Capping the framerate to 80 on a 3080 GPU is not really 'solving' it too boot - depending on the res (even at 4k) that's pretty atrocious performance for that card.

Wow, I only saw the video that made it look like they brought those features across.

I didn't realize the controller interface was still trash. I guess the only decent(ish) UI for ME is still just the one that BioWare didn't design.

It was basically KOTOR 1.5, except like Mass Effect, world/characters/races created by BioWare, from the ground up, from scratch

I so far was on the Moon and on the planet of the Antaeus System.
And on these planets I noticed some heavy framedrops when turning the camera in certain directions. The planets were really empty in comparison to the main story locations but run way worse.
The drops are also easily reproducable. Eg by panning the camera in thebsame direction. Feels like the game has problems loading assets on the fly plus does reload those assets everytime you go into a "grid" or look in its direction.

Origin suucks. To fully be fully updated it must have completed the check files, then the download, then the install (the "finishing" state, that I used to hate because it got stuck in there so often). It can take a while, but it does clearly says that it's updated one it's finished.

Jade Empire is great. It's somewhat problematic these days, but at the time, it was a step above anything else BioWare was doing. It probably has the strongest narrative arc of any BioWare game.

So what kind of AA does this use? I assume FXAA.
It's UE3, so most likely.

It's still kind of an improvement since the original couldn't even have AA.

urgh. i freaking hate how flaky and pointless the launcher is. ME1 was working fine yesterday... then today i got the same bug of clicking ME1 start or resume and it fails the boot the game and im back at the launcher.

Luckily restarting my pc fixed this... for now.

I don't think ive had this much issue consistently starting a game in at least over 10 years.

Made some headway into the game, finished Eden Prime. Definitely noticed the occasional stutter and then had some really odd performance near the tram control. Spinning the camera around quickly makes the framerate/pacing very erratic with the framerate dropping into the 40s for me (FPS capped at 60), meanwhile Afterburner shows that neither the GPU nor CPU utilization were maxed out.

Edit: Went down to 1080p as an experiment and using SpecialK. Just got to the Citadel and not even SK can help with some of the framepacing issues you can run into there.

Hey, a question about this. These settings aren't available in GamerSettings.ini (in Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame\Config). I tried adding it, but it didn't work. I also tried setting "BlockInvisibleCursorInput" to true, since you said the settings should be set to true, but that also didn't work. Did I miss something?

That was my bad, have too many config files on the brain with this game. I'm finding that mouse controls with SK can be finicky and stop working if you look at it funny. I'm using local injection for SK, if that makes a difference. Also using version 21.05.17.
