It's such a significant upgrade and improvement IMO.
Yeah.... they have ray tracing reflections at 60FPS. What the hell. It has to be dynamic res plus their upscale method. This looks great.

I don't mind him, he just looks way too young, younger than Miles.
It's just an opinion, but I don't like the new Peter. It benefits from engine upgrades and being a close match to the mocap/voice actor, but I think it looks more generic and more uncanny. Clearly others disagree.
What's with the insistence to have Peter be young. We finally got an adult Peter Parker and this is what they do? Come on Insomniac.

I do prefer the new face, because there was always something about the jaw on the original model that put me off. I didn't care at the time, though, since the vast, vast majority of the time, Peter is suited up.
Overall, it does look like Insomniac put a lot of time into it. Between this, Miles Morales, and Ratchet & Clank coming soon, I just have no idea how they do it all with the struggles of modern game creation. It's like we're back in the PS2 era where they could put together an excellent Ratchet & Clank game annually.

The change to Pete is really drastic, I don't understand the rational behind it when it hasn't been that long. Maybe they had some issues with the Motion Capture actor or got their hand forced by Marvel. Regardless I really don't like it, even removing my attachment to the original look

Darker eyes, thinner lips, thinner eyebrows, narrower chin, the bone structure around the eye, more pronounced cheekbones, the way the nose widens slightly as it goes up.

To be honest OG Peter didn't quite work for me. He looked way too old! Pete is in his early 20s, this is a much better fit.
I was never a fan of the Tom Holland Spiderman movies and now we have a lookalike of him in the game. Great.
Also I'm not seeing anything too impressive in the video posted? I see I guess some puddles here and there now, but nothing that makes me think this is worth an additional $20 extra. I guess I'll wait for DF to put out a video highlighting any differences.

Wow 60fps Spidey looks so damn good.
Can't say I'm a fan of the face change though. From a looks standpoint, it makes no sense given Parker's age/experience at this point.

The 60 fps and general improvements are nice but I wish they at least kept the essence of the original Peter model. Locking it behind the ultimate edition is also a huge turn-off.
Peter is 23 in Spider-man ps4. Old model looked 32. New model looks 22.

Nobody asked for a free upgrade that completely changes the character model. They just wanted a free upgrade. 60fps, 4k (or around that), improved LOD, etc.
Or you could look at all the other large upgrades that Insomniac made on top of the new Peter.
It's not. People thinking performance modes would be gone are pretty absurd though.

Yeah I know people are mad that you have to rebuy it but I am legit curious how it's gonna look. The PS3-PS4 upgrade was absolutely insane.

I havent said too much on it because I've been waiting to see more. This is definitely worth the asking price and the bundle is a steal now lol.
Getting $70 ultimate edition no doubt. FYI I never bought it back on 2018 so just its better option for me. Those with the og game can play as older Peter lol.

I mean, he's still going to be 23 in the game no matter which face they put on the model.
They should have put this out before the commotion over the upgrade fee. Honestly such bad marketing from Sony.
Why is playing at 60fps for any game, let alone a remaster, still a weird option? Instead of the standard.
