27, white gold. Although it's fairly gold now since it's overdue for a redipping. Never have been a fan of gold.

30s, light gray tungsten. Easy to maintain, don't have to worry about scratches or bending.

Legit identical to this one, albeit a bit thinner.

36, white gold. I also have a palladium version of the exact same ring for the brief period I lost my ring in our couch cushions. But I now wear the white gold one I wore the day of my wedding again and am saving the palladium one for any future bonehead moves on my part.

30, mine has 3 bands over a titanium ring: meteorite, lapis lazuli, and crushed dinosaur bone <3

36.. silver colored with a darker middle part. I honestly forget what the metal is but I remember it's not tungsten. I was leaning in that direction initially but this one was a little sturdier as I recall. It fits nicely and has held up well although obviously there are some little scratches here and there. I wear it all the time (6.5 years now).

31, yellow gold

Was going to go with white gold, but the jeweler clued me in that "white gold" is usually just yellow gold with a nickel or rhodium plating. Not wanting to pay more for a ring with plating that might wear off eventually, I just went with the traditional. And you know what? I kind of like it better having a classic looking ring.

You do you OP, go for a cheaper metal if it suits you. At the end of the day, no one gives a shit what your ring is made out of. It not part of your overall "look", it's just a quick signal to others that you're not available.

Black Acrylic with baby blue carbon fiber inlay. (41)

My discoveries about the alternative metal craze for men's rings -

Tungston when cold can shatter with a small shock (dropping to ground on a cold winter day for instance) - Also it's crazy difficult to cut off*
Titanium shows scratches like crazy - Black Titanium is just a coating that can come off - Also crazy difficult to cut off*
Black Acrylic doesn't scratch, (Gets lots of attention) and was only $75

*Was told by multiple medical personel if the ring is part of entrapment, they cut the finger instead of the ring.

Also note - Didn't want gold/plat, etc. Wanting something to stand out.

I was 32 when I got married and I'm 41 now. I had a gunmetal tungsten ring at first but due to losing weight it was literally falling off my finger and since it can't be resized I opted to get a simple titanium band.

36; I've been married a few months. The outer edge is titanium. Then there is a silver meteorite center core, and then a small inner core that is black and blue by a Japanese metal processes that I have no idea how to spell so I'm not going to bother. I love it; wife did good. All I told her was that I need meteorite.

Is it Mokume? Ring looks dope, did you by chance get it from Jewelry by Johan?

I definitely think gold is out of style, but I wonder if silver/titanium/grey will be seen as the same in a few decades.

edit: i'm 33 and browsing rings now

Same age as you, silver (I think tungsten). I don't really care to much but almost immediately I wished I would have went gold. It's just a more classic look.

Married in the 90s Gold bands, over the years we both lost them.. At 27 years marriage we bought matching Titanium/Redwood bands in SF as a make up..

33. A nice silver design from David Yurman.

Degloving took one photo to scare me from ever buying hard metals.
