Prime Vince would have growled the shit out of "Damien vs. The Demonnnnnn" in a PPV intro video package in 1990.

Desperation for this year's mania to look good is off the charts

I suspect they want to impress the big dogs (Fox/USA/Peacock) by selling out two nights at AT&T stadium

and do massive streaming numbers on peacock

the result is the hotshot to end all hotshots (steve austin comeback) + a shit load of celebrities on the card + vince mcmahon for some godforsaken reason

wouldn't be shocked if austin is about to get the biggest one night payday in the history of the business

It's like they are trying to circumvent copyright on things they own.

"This is my moment" became "My moment is now" and "No One Will Survive" became "Fighting To Survive"

Imagine Stone Cold coming back and it being to face Kevin Owens lol, a guy they've geeked 90+% of his run (like most people to be fair). That's the most random shit.

I never even cared for Stone Cold back in the day and even I'm like, probably should be a bigger deal than that.

"Well Steve, you see he randomly started doing the stunner and uhh, he randomly started hating Texas... you gotta come back for those reasons!"

*stone cold stare*

"How about we give you the combined pay of all the fired wrestlers?"

*stone cold happy face*

I prefer mid-length/slicked back haired Edge from before his in-ring return.

An Amon Amarth shirt? what a goddamn geek lol. On *paper* a match between AJ and Edge sounds big and #stupendous enough for WWE but just like the one against Jericho in Mania 26 it won't mean anything and it'll be 'omgepic!!11' just because is at Wrestlemania but the wrestling itself won't be anything to write home about. Just another pedestrian main event match between WWE Superstars

Nah, I'm looking forward to that match. It's at least one that on paper sounds great and they're both really smart performers. Edge has been in some of the better, if not best, experiences I've had in wrestling, ever. I'm all in to see what they do with Styles.

That said, Styles did that complete shit match with Nakamura on Wrestlemania some years ago. Which was also a dream match on paper.

This, THIS is exactly what I'm talking about.

Ever since they acknowledged that undercard matches sometimes 'steal the show' from the main event (if I remember correctly they started doing it around Mania X-8 when they HAD to admit that nobody gave a shit about anything else after Rock v Hogan), every year they put a match in the middle that is big but not enough to main event so the announcers can outright say 'woahhh guys, I think this could steal the show tonight' but it never does.

When you have Michael Cole saying this stuff, you know they're self aware so by default it won't happen. Edge vs AJ will be 'that' match this year.

We've had many tho... HBK vs Kurt Angle, CM Punk vs Undertaker, among others.

All I'm saying, is that while WWE is shit and all that checklist of stuff we know and has to be said, I'm looking forward to that match and we can only hope it's at least good enough to watch it.

The problem is that Edge has never truly been the guy ever, like he is a main eventer and a draw but also someone who doesn't really feel that influential for their like Orton or Cena for example

Oddly enough, I think that if Edge & Christian was a more permanent tag team this year it would have been definitely interesting to see him in some dream matches against people like the Young Bucks for example

What's wrong with with Amon Amarth?

If Edge was allowed to be the focus of the show when he first cashed in against Cena and hold it until Mania like everyone thought they would, it probably would've helped.

Yeah for someone who hold a lot of world championships Edge never felt as iconic and relevant as CM Punk for example.

Is kinda the same tier of people like Jericho, and that's more on their booking than their personal talent

It really depends on a lot of things. Edge is far bigger than CM Punk for me, but I know that for a lot of others it isn't. To me, Edge was the return of the decade, not Punk, for a lot of reasons. Nostalgia and in-ring performance being two of them.

The problem with current Edge, as with a lot of folks, is that it's under current WWE. There's only so much he can do right now.

I will say that Suit Jericho > La Familia era Edge if we compare their main event heel runs.

I feel like Austin is just going to end up getting a ton of money to do 1 Stunner on Owens after he loses a tag title match and gets on the mic to whine about Texas.

Edge will always feel bigger because someone who was a relevant midcarder in the attitude era with a posterior main even push in a period where busines was down in comparision is always going to be bigger that someone who started and left in said down period

La familia Edge is WOAT material for me, I struggle to think of a worse main event heel faction in WWE history.
Oh no, not bam neeley and chavo!

Somehow worse than JBL's cabinet, probably because at least there we didn't have "look maggle, it's the love of my life Vickie Guerrero!"

Okay so I wasn't watching when JBL was main eventing, but still!

It gave birth to Vickie Guerrero's fucking annoying "EXCUSE ME" shtick that was grating, and not in a "such a good heel!" way

Edge vs AJ Styles should be an amazing match. Unlike Nakamura Edge still gives a damn about putting out good matches.
(Also I think AJ vs Nakamura in NJPW was massively overrated)
