It's something that's really telling and really making me mad just thinking about it and how it will probably go unpunished. I mean, in a calm climate that type of thing is disastrous for the leader of the US to do. It just gets lost now.

The fact that I keep seeing images of families being shot up in a mosque, even though I refuse to watch the footage makes me want them gone from this Earth.

Yeah I was pretty much going to say the same thing. Even at 10 years each (which is really low) He would be looking at 490 years.
There's no room for discretion for murder sentencing in nz, unless it's changed it's "life" with a minimum of 10 years before parole.
Bunch of 20 year minimums and one 30 year minimum are currently enforced. Two attempts too enforce non parole life sentences have been overturned as the sentences were deemed to have contravened the nz bill of rights.

I live in Christchurch but I'm currently overseas for work. This is just all so surreal. I drive past that mosque most days to get to work. I'm angry, sad and sickened by all of this. My GF was in lockdown at the hospital up until a couple of hours ago. Luckily I don't know anyone that's seriously affected, but thoughts to all the victim's friends and families.
Man, I'm just baffled by people on Facebook saying: "it was bound to happen" and "40 of them for 1000s of us?????"

It is a dereliction of duty and absolute display of privilege that white supremacy is not nearly as scrutinised as Islamist/ISIS networks.

The reality of the situation doesn't even seem to make these people back off either. The fucking Wormtongue scavengers all too happily jump on the opportunity to victim-blame an already hurting community. Our youths are being radicalised by these people, and more people will suffer from our persistent inability to take this seriously.
