In the context of the pokémon world, it's kind of weird to think that an animal like creature is hated just because they're useless in battle. If our world was like a pokémon game that is played by people in another dimension, they would hate most of our pet dogs and cats since they're basically the irl magicarps whose moves is to purr or play catch.

there are two types of people in life: people who hate on magikarp and will get absolutely savaged in the eventual gyarados uprising and those who love magikarp and will therefore be spared in said gyarados uprising

Magikarp was cool and edgy. Now pokemon is all about shitty gimmicks, linear dumb stories and poor 3D. Magikarp deserves better, it should migrate to the next nexomon or something
