I loved playing the game on PC (Steam release) at 60 fps. The story is pretty good and sucked me in - very atmospheric and dark. The gameplay is nothing special, but I enjoyed it. As a package the game is pretty damn good.

Control was a such a disappointment in comparison. I was really let down by that game.

I love Quantum Break, and I think it's a great Remedy game. I liked Control more, but man, I would give a limb for a sequel to Quantum Break.

You can keep the TV episodes though. I really don't like those (although they do get better as the "season" progress forward)
I was so surprised for all the hate QB initially got - my thoughts are directly in line with yours. I absolutely loved playing it at the time, thought the combat and powers cool and fun, and thought the story was intriguing (with solid Remedy game acting). I was very disappointed not to see a sequel.

QB is my least liked Remedy game. The gameplay mechanics, level design and set pieces were pretty unimaginative imo. More importantly, I think the story is downright bad by their standards, and the TV gimmick just didn't work for me. I'm glad they gave Courtney Hope a bigger role in Control.

I think Control has some issues but, as a whole, it captures that unique blend of storytelling, atmosphere, and creative gameplay mechanics that Remedy does so well, so I guess I'm in the (not as vocal) majority that thinks Control is a significantly better game than QB.

It has a GOAT-tier soundtrack though.

I love quantum break. I loved control as well and it is interesting to see the issues they both have.

Quantum break has a great story and world building and while the gameplay is great it feels like there is not enough of it. Control on the other hand has an ok main plot (although the world building is excellent), and maybe stretches it's gameplay a bit too much. The gameplay in control never feels bad, but feels a little repetitive towards the end of the game.

After Max Payne 2, it's my favorite Remedy game. Very, very strong writing and narrative, and the combat is basically a proof of concept for Control. What's not to love?

The game that sold me on the Xbox Ecosystem.

There is still so much story left to be told. I wouldn't mind a Comic Book DLC to explore the
200 years of frozen time to fix the Quantum Break or explain if that ever happened?

Got back into it last night thanks to this thread and currently in act 3 just beyond where I dropped off initially. Really enjoying it and the tv show episodes, which I guess I didn't really give a chance before.

One thing which annoys me is the game always wants you to keep moving forward. With your allies or Jack constantly remjnding you to move on when I just want to explore or read some document or email and they start reminding you after only a few seconds of gping off the path or reading a document.
Other than that I'm having a grand ol' time.

Enjoyed it big time, it get so much better once the whole time weirdness starts. Prior to that is a bit slow.

I liked Quantum Break. MS really squandered the potential they had with Remedy: QB really got shafted marketing-wise. The response to the TV episodes and the then-current anti-Xbox sentiment going around definitely didn't do it any favors, either.

Then again, if QB had been a succes, we might have never gotten Control, which is one of my favorite games ever, so it was an acceptable trade.

Now that Remedy's experiencing a renaissance with the Max Payne remasters and Alan Wake 2, I'm very interested in if and how they'll try to collect QB to the wider Remedy universe. I suppose they could frame the 'End of Time' as an Altered World Event, but I feel like that would diminish the stakes in the story somewhat.

I just finished this just now and what a ride. Like people have already said it's one of the best time travel stories out there and doesn't get convoluted at all, the powers remained fun until the end. The final boss was very difficult and I always hate when a boss brings in adds, especially those of the bulletsponge kind, but after several tries I managed to beat it. It was a great experience and I really hope a sequel is someday made.
